The main problem with t his is that the Puritans wanted their religious freedom but didn't want it for others. One of my ancestors helped drive Anne Hutchinson out of the MA Bay colony because she didn't follow the rules.

The pilgrims were before the Puritans. THe Puritans came much later. And yes, they were hypocritical dicks.

They didn't want religious freedom. The Puritans wanted all England to follow in Cromwell's footsteps, an evil disgusting man with fundamentalist religious views that were outdated even for 1620.
