Paladin is goated. The different orders are very interesting I'm very much a fan of the way Pillars and 5E deal with Paladin flavor and have moved away from deities and instead serve an ideal for greater rp variety. Mechanically the class is very strong with superb tanking ability coupled with some burst healing, some good buffs(shoutout to Liberating Exhortation) and some good damage abilities basically can do nearly everything well.

5e dumbed down the Paladin, and the rules in general. Lore destroyed beyond repair in the process. Not a good thing.

I played a aumaua paladin gunslinger who multiclassed with chanter in Deadfire. Basically he was a cowboy who became a singing cowboy.

Glad to see this series continued. About Aegis of Loyalty - the intention is that you use it to remove Charmed/Confused/Dominated effects from your allies by hitting them (for minimal damage) while being somewhat protected from their aggression (thus accuracy penalty for them). It seems you took it as an ability that should help against enemies that were Charmed (and the like) by your team but is bad at it? :)
@SlanderedGaming Жыл бұрын
My issue is that based on the description all characters hit by your Paladin will have the effect removed. So if you are like me and have a Cipher who loves dominating everybody than this is counter productive. I also do not like the idea of taking your paladin off the frontline to go remove charmed from an ally in the backline so that functionality is unappealing. You are probably right that I could've done a better job of making this clear.

@@SlanderedGaming Ah, okay. Oh, and I agree that this is a rather questionable ability in practice, even if I find the idea amusing.

Interesting, very interesting paladin is definitely on my list of classes i might pick for my main character when i go for a full playthrough of Pillars of Eternity. Playing as a fire damage focused paladin especially tickles my funny bone 🔥👀😆

It's a great time in Pillars of Eternity for sure.

Keep in mind that Paladin's Disposition force you to play in a certain way if you want to have bonuses to your abilities, for that reason you should probably play with Personality/Reputation option turned on, but as the result you may have less freedom with your conversation options. Because of that I don't consider it a great class for a first playthrough.

@@maxmach4361 thank :) i have tryed playing through the game before, but always lost interest around the time when you get your own base/castle, becasue i had no idea where i was going with my character/class XD So i am familiar with the games and it's basic machines, but thanks for the tip and hop you have a great day :)

Ah Paladins. The class that people who under value the engagement mechanic, think is a good main tank. Engagements matter in PoE1 unless you are solo. Paladins are great off tanks though, as a good off tank should also provide utility, which Paladins definitely do. As damage dealers they do good burst with Flames of Devotion, but once that runs out they end up dealing mediocre damage. That is, until level 13, which is technically not base game. At level 13, Paladins demonstrate the dangers of second hand fire, and prove to Chanters that you can deal AoE burn damage and Ally utility at the same time.

Paladins, where role play matters, where you are tanky as hell just because, where you have heals for days, and where you can smack a motherfucker with the fires of God.... I played a dual wield paladin, Kind Wayfinders, full attack speed, healing allies and hitting very high once I got good weapons, I could not die and I could most definitely hurt the enemy. Plus, exhortations are great. I made a wall with myself, Eder and Pallegina, and nothing went through us. I hay a dagger that gave me attack speed and the soudlblund sword that had a probability to cast Sunlance with every attack, and by God it hurt. Palaidn, my favorite class. With dual wield, you hit with Flames of Devotion twice, activating passives twice as well!!

Personally, it's my favourite class, it's powerful, fun to play, cool, and interesting as hell (except those goody-two shoe bastards, the kind wayfarers). My first playthrough was a lawful evil (my favourite alignment) Aedyrian Noble Goldpact Paladin, who through the course of the game starts to like the Leaden Key, and in the second game transitions into a Steel Garrote Paladin/Priest of Woedica multi-class. But during the first game this character was a destroyer. A lot of HP, ridiculous amounts of defense, high DMG, a lot of powerful healing, and she had every attribute on a high level. There was a moment where most of my party died, and the only person standing was my MC, she singlehandedly revived all of my companions, healed them to max hp, and then killed half of the enemies.

Wow that's awesome! Yeah Paladin's are super powerful in this series.

You have Aegis of Loyalty backwards. It allows you to clear controlling afflictions from your party just by auto-attacking them (and reduces the friendly fire damage that those attacks do), instead of using your limited charge spells. Good against the huge groups of fampyrs that will charm your characters over and over... but still probably not worth a talent point.

Shout out for my favorite PoE1 companion, Pallegina mes Rèi. I love characters who have ideals, passion, and retain independant thought. Her personal conflict in her quest line, combined with the nature of her class, was a super interesting conundrum. Keeping your word to an organization you really do believe in vs doing what's right for the common folk. Shows how integrity doesn't always provide a clear answer. "Being a paladin isn't as straight forward as it should be." And her voice actor was perfect. I couldn't get enough of the accent and sharp tongue.

Paladins are the Ben Shapiro of fighters, in POE. Especially Bleak Walkers, which I've played. As my stealth included, slapping a maid through her head as a stealth option. Threatening everyone, and being a total asshole. Talking to people like " Let's say, theoretically. If I beat you up, will you - as an individual of certain standing, move out of my general direction. Would that logic persuade you? Much punishment is quite likely to follow."
@SlanderedGaming Жыл бұрын
