Nice adjustment on the second landing! The ground effect is way more prominent than the 172 I fly!

Looks like it is a fun plane to fly. I'm excited and looking forward to my first flight in one on Thursday. If you're ever up near Dallas, then don't hesitate to send a line!

Hey, thanks! The Grumman's are fantastic little airplanes, and practically everyone falls in love with them after a little stick time. I actually just purchased a Tiger with a couple partners recently. I hope to have some new videos with it up soon! Some of my other videos are in Cheetah's and Tigers, especially my "Landing Improvements" vid where you can really see the progress of mastering the Grumman's landing characteristics. Good luck, and fly safe!

I took the mic out of my camera and put it on about 6" of wire. That gets stuffed under my headset to give ATC and my instructor just as I hear them. It also reduces ambiant noise.

Earned my private and instrument ratings in a cheetah out of Houston Hobby airport in the 80S. Great aircraft! Earned my commercial multi in a cougar.

Just checked out yesterday in a 77' Cheetah our club has down at Pearland. Liked it! Engine tends to run pretty warm in these summer temps. Two of us on board, decent climb rate. Has the 160hp upgrade. First landing was crap, but after I figured out the sight picture, easy after. Thanks for posting your vids. P.S., how far back can that canopy be opened in flight? I didn't see that in the POH.

She's now in for her 2015 annual. Getting an overhauled engine with the 160hp High Compression engine upgrade and Centri-Lube camshaft STC. Adding a JPI EDM-830 Engine monitor as well. The FBOs that managed her before didn't do her any favors that $30,000 can't fix.

+Houston Firefox Very cool. It's amazing how just a small increase in horsepower can help these airplanes. I miss being able to rent a Grumman regularly, but I'm in the process of forming up a new flying club and DWH, so hopefully I'll be able to get access to one again soon (if I can convince the rest of the members how awesome they are!). Good luck!

+carl varga Did you happen to notice that the video clips from taxiing from the parking spot to taxiing onto the runway? It's called video editing. Of course a full preflight and mag check were performed.
