Duuuude the first time I watched this video I was 12 years old dreaming of becoming a commercial pilot, so happy to have found the video back scrolling through KZbin ! *_* Now I'm 21 holding a frozen ATPL looking for my first pilot job !

This thing is great. Excellent takeoff performance. It's really just a short CRJ.

Or a crj is a long challenger?

If i could afford it this is what i would get. The range on the 604 being 4000 nautical miles or so is incredible. That's basically Boston to LA non stop. Then a refuel from LA to Honolulu non stop. Refuel again for a non stop from Honolulu to Tokyo. Yeah folks i dream.

Wow the Challenger cockpit seems cavernous compared to most business jets. ;) Great vid thanks for posting!

I got to sit in the cockpit of one of these on Sunday, but the plane was cold and dark.

@illmatic. You have to get a private pilot's license first. Then get your commerial license and instrument rating. Then you have to get your ATP(air transport) license which requires a minumum of 1200 flight hours. I was working this several years ago when the place I was flying out of closed down.
@innerstrengthmedia9 жыл бұрын
The ATP is required for Pilot in Command of a turbojet aircraft under FAR 135. Many Challengers and other bizjets are operated on Part 135 certificates. I'm an ATP with multiple type ratings.

@Talent2008 ... Commercial Pilot License, Part III ... The Commercial License itself requires a total of 250 hrs. of time and additional training. Up until this time in your training you will have spent at least 25-30k in aircraft rentals, 15k in instruction and Ground school and about 2k in materials. Add to this the cost of about 7-10k of the type rating of a Cessna Citation 500 series or similar. Total cost to fly a jet with a commercial license: 55k+ (bare minimum!) ... hope that helps.

@Talent2008 First step is to get your private pilots license. To fly the commercial airlines or private jets it takes quite a long time to accumulate the necessary flying time required....but it can be done. I know someone who started flying later in life and is now flying jets. "all things are possible to him who believes"

@Talent2008 ... Since nobody seem to either want to give you some decent info or they don't know it, here's the scoop on what you need. Basic licensing needed to fly a jet is what is called a CPL (commercial pilot license) with multi-engine rating, instrument rating and a type rating for the jet you are looking to pilot. First you get you private license (PPL), then the multi-engine and instrument ratings, then the commercial and finally the type rating.
@kkazphx12 жыл бұрын
@Talent2008 ... Commercial Pilot License, Part II ... You need a class 2 medical (no heart issues, seizures, etc, vision correctable to 20/20, color vision or demontrated ability) ... PPL (private pilot license) takes about 40 hour flight time and 60 hours ground training. Cost varies, but expect at least 5-6k. Instrument and multi-engine ratings are available in week and weekend courses, but you need at least 105 hrs of flight time to qualify to get both..

One thing you could do is join the Air Force and get the flight hours necessary. Later in life when you've been decommissioned you can then go and join an airliner. Extremely hard to get into the Air Force though you need degrees and shizzle like that.

Get these pilots unshaved pierced, tattooed and in Motorhead tank tops, then the music in your other video would of worked for me. I prefer this version with cockpit sounds. Good video, Thanks

@Talent2008 ... Note: You CAN fly a jet with a private license. So if you are NOT looking to get a CPL, NOT looking to fly for hire you can save 10-15k (for the 250-hr. requirement of the CPL). The info below is in answer to your question how to get to fly a jet with a commercial license.

I want to obtain a commercial pilots license, just as a hobby. Is that possible, or do I HAVE to be employed by a company?
@donjohnson86495 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can do it just for the fun of it if you can afford it. No need to even be employed in the aviation industry...the only thing you REALLY NEED is the money to pay for the required flight time and etc. The need for a commercial pilot's license is really only to allow you to fly for hire, but you can certainly just putt around while having a Commercial license and not be doing it for compensation.

@AreaQNH870 A friend of mine just put a picture up on facebook of him flying a jet. It was a smaller one, but still a jet. He has a pilit's license, but works with me, so I know he's not employed by any company. I will also check with him to see how he did it. I would really love to fly a jet someday.

+Sheri-myvideos It most definitely is the landing gear lever :)

That's neat I made a good guess:) I got to sit in the cockpit of southwest last May. The pilot and flight attendant were standing outside the cockpit saying goodbye to people and I asked if I could take a picture of the cockpit and they said yes but then the flight attendant said I could go inside and that she would take a picture of me in the seat. I have two pictures of me in the seat. That was my Cleveland back to Chicago flight. I was already excited because I already had taped the landing plus flying past the skyline. I always tape the take off and landing. If I was a young guy I would of thought about flying those planes. So I felt fine in the cockpit. I was only in there like a minute.

The alarm sound at 1:25 - what does it mean?
@donjohnson86495 жыл бұрын
Altitude alert tone (not really an "ALARM", just a reminder as part of the normal operating routiine) meaning 1000 feet to go....it sounds at 1000 feet from the altitude set in the "altutude preselect" window while either climbing or descending. You also can hear the pilot(s) calling out and repeating the "One to go"---which actually means one thousand feet to go to get to the altitude set on the preselect.

just to get it clear to fly a jet all you need is a ppl multiengine rating high proformance endorsement complex endorsement type rating and probably instrument rating to do it as a job you need a comertial pilot rating the atpl is only required for major international routes
@Nfarce9 жыл бұрын
Yes, but you need a turbine type rating, not a "complex" or "high performance" rating which can be for piston props. Big difference. At least in the US anyway. But maybe that's what you meant anyway. It wasn't clear. But I know of no corporation or private partnership ownership companies like Flexjet who will hire an FO, let alone a captain, without an ATP rating. With that said it was a quick 80 knots and V1 here.
