I thoroughly enjoyed this! Thanks for sharing. And in the end, what did I learn? His share of the rent was $55.00!!! Wow! I would LOVE to be paying that today! LOL

$55 was $304.77 in todays currency. Which is around $915, for 3 people a month.

Jack is David. I can handle it Stanley is George. S'alright David wants to make movies. No. Nope. Uh-uh. That's where I draw the line. But seriously, thanks for uploading this. I've watched the series probably 10x at least, but this is the first time I've seen the pilot. They really were pushing the boundaries.

Thanks for this video I never seen the full original pilot only part or half of it. im still watching it but I wanted to make a comment, I also noticed the iconic life poster was original near the kitchen when it's usually near Jacks room.

I watched the original series from the premiere almost all the way to the end. I still couldn't stop laughing at this.

Everyone was accurately casted Except Its amazing now to see how Joyce DeWitt was really needed to bring her uniqueness as the sharp initial lead roommate & her later sexiness in those gloria Vanderbilt jeans And Suzanne Sommers much needed masterful portrayal of the seemingly village idiot

I wonder if the actors from these pilots who get replaced before it gets picked up get super pissed watching the mega hit show they were almost a part off.
@user-zr6pl6nb6z6 сағат бұрын
I can clearly see why they didn't go with this as the actual premise for the series.

the Zoey charachter was way different from the Patricia charachter we saw in the actual episode one. Also, Mrs Roper is a bit different personality from what we would come to know
@abdurobinson682726 күн бұрын
In this version Helen acts to young. They aged her by the time the show was picked up. I enjoyed the Patricia character more because she was a snobb lol
@lennypearl17 күн бұрын
This is pretty much the exact same script as the first episode of 'Man About the House', so Mrs Roper is more like that character in this pilot, also why Mr. Roper's first name is George

I actually preferred the "other" potential roommate that was asking to move in. The jokes were amusing too, it was just that it didnt hit the way compared to the final result.

I often wondered if on the nanny series ,miles and CC were modeled after thr Ropers.

I like the actress playing Jenny, (Valerie Curtin) she was sexy. Sam is really over acting and annoying. I'm glad they knew better to go with Joyce and sue. Our version man about the house is dead funny,but threes company was a bit more funny because of John (jack) is so funny😅 cheers 👍🏻 great pilot.

It's funny - while I didn't care for Sam either, I thought Jenny's hyper-sarcastic reading of every line of dialogue got old and annoying really quickly. There was a very of-it's-time Broadway feel to her delivery, which I didn't think worked well. Thankfully they moved on to Joyce and Suzanne! I also enjoyed Man About The House.

Thank god they recasted ….. this episode is awful. Zero chemistry and not funny at all!
@abdurobinson682726 күн бұрын
I agree this pilot is giving me Kate and Alley and some of the sex jokes seemed awkward and didn’t land well. This pilot is too close to the British version of Man About The House. I’m so glad they recasted and made a new pilot
@tomflorio363911 күн бұрын
The hyper-sarcasm in every flipping line read from the Jenny character got annoying real quick.
