Hi Cpt could you please tell us why do we need to know (TCH threshold crossing height} on app chart and how can we use this info during the app phase thanks 🙏
@PILOTCLIMB3 жыл бұрын
Hey, many thanks for watching! The TCH may vary depending on the glideslope angle, however, most of the time the TCH is 50feet, and honestly, we don't pay too much attention, unless you have a non-normal descend angle on the chart. If the TCH is higher than normal you need to make sure you take it into consideration during the Landing Distances Calculations, especially on a short runway. Let me know if I answered your question.👍

Waw amazing...i alsomwanna ask was if the difference between landing decision point LDP and this...DA/H or MDA/H and go around...
@PILOTCLIMB2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I'm not familiar with the Landing Decision Point, we always use DA/H or MDA/H
@yosefjabbour65302 жыл бұрын
@@PILOTCLIMB I was told that Landing Decision Point LDP is the heighest point at which a safe go around or missed approach coulde be maede...any point afterwards and one must land even if engine failure after this point...but not sure if its the same meaning to MAP or MDA/H or DA/H...
@yosefjabbour65302 жыл бұрын
@@PILOTCLIMB I was told by some they are different, i was told by others they are the same meaning but used differently in charts...some told me that LDP is not used now a days they changed it... i git confused by the many ansers I got but yeah...

Good Day Capt,in B737 what is a yaw damper function?incase 1 engine failed in flight with these yaw damper in B737 automatically jump in for rudder input to compensate the yaw due to asymetric thrust?
@PILOTCLIMB3 жыл бұрын
The yaw damper helps you with the dutch rull, gusts and turn coordination. It does not apply auto rudder in case of engine failure on the B737, the pilot has to do it. Let me know if you have more questions!!

Hello Gabriele, I'd like to know if even in the DA you add a value imposed by the airline like in the MDA or you select the value reported on the charts only. Thanks a lot!

Good Day Capt....is it right DA - DH = Runway/airport elevation ?
@PILOTCLIMB3 жыл бұрын
Hey, I hope you are doing great!! If you do DA-DH you get the height over the ground that you will have when reaching the DH/DA. 99% of the times the height you get by doing DA-DH is very similar to the runway elevation (as you said) however, since the DA/DH is not located over the runway threshold, you might have a sligtly different height if there is some terrain just below the DA/DH. Let me know if you still have any questions. Have a great day

@@PILOTCLIMB Good Day Capt,I see on flight radar24 it stated calibrated altitude and gps altitude.Do you know what they mean with calibrated altitude?is it a density altitude or a pressure altitude?thanks
@PILOTCLIMB3 жыл бұрын
@@viktoriaelisabeth467 Hey, I hope you doing great!! I don't have much knowledge regarding FlightRadar24, however, the GPS altitude is taken by the satellites and the calibrated altitude should be the altitude from the mean sea level. Let me know if you still have questions!
