Sure was a long time coming! I worked C-Series flight test almost from day one! It's good to see the fruits of your labor out generating revenue and doing what they were built to do! Worked on pretty much all the experimental flight test ships from FTV-1 to FTV-7. You can always tell when one is nearby, nothing else sounds like the P&W P1524G turbofans!

It's amazing how fuel efficient that airplane is! I fly the CRJ-900 and at FL370 it has a similar burn to the C-series. We will burn approximately 1800-2000 lbs/hr per engine at M.77. (remember 2.2 for the correction kg -> lbs) The fact that the CS-300 has almost twice as many passengers for similar fuel flow is astonishing!

Robert Hello . The CRJ 900 IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PLANES I've flown on. Delta from New York to Cincinnati. I'm looking for a 1/200 scale of the DELTA CONNECTION CRJ900'S in plastic snap fit. Would you know where I could find one? I've seen it in 1/150 scale but not 1/200 which I need to complete my Delta collection. Thanks ! A.P.

Canadians sure know how to build a beautiful reliable aircraft. The crazy thing is that most new planes have some problems when they're first launched but the C-series has had 99.7% dispatch rating right from the start and most brand new Boeing and Airbus aircraft usually had between 94 to 97% dispatch rating in the beginning. That is great news for Bombardier because it shows they build best quality aircraft and they really know what their doing. I just hate that they had to merge with Airbus so they could sell planes to the US because of Boeing asking US government to impose huge import tax on Bombardier aircraft. What a crappy way to treat your Canadian neighbor.

Actually it was a bit more complicated than that. The cost of development of the aircraft had Bombardier down to their knees and they were around the market looking fro an investor some years now. Otherwise you are 100% correct. On the other hand, I think Airbus did the right thing by stepping in and taking charge of the program. Incidentally, the percentage Bombardier is left with, around 34% with the remaining 16% belonging to Investissement Québec is not bad at all. Embraer will be left with a mere 20% after their handing-over of their entire commercial aviation sector to Boeing; I really don't get why they went along with it.

Hanoibus Gamer no, not really. The C-Series was wholly a Bombardier plane. Some components were built under contract for Bombardier like Shorts for instance. Airbus simply bought into Bombardier well after the fact. There was already C-Series in revenue service prior to Airbus.

I am not sure what Boeing Alpha Floor Protections is and am not going to take the time to look it up. CSeries FBW has High Alpha Protection and High Speed Protection.

I flew in the Cessna Glass Cockpit and hated the PFD, because the airspeed and altitude is extremely hard to read on a blue and orange moving background.

It's not that bad, they gave 51% ownership of the CS series to Airbus, not Bombardier with future option to buy it back. 30 or so of the percent of the aircraft is owned by the government. I mean it really sucks but it keeps people working who are in the production line.

José Roberto Wright Maybe they're using same company that Embraer used to make their throttle levers that way it saves Bombardier a lot of money, instead of producing their own. Boeing and Airbus also sometimes buy their parts from the same company to save money instead of developing their own.
