Suggesting maximum speed for mini drones is not always ideal. Many mini drones use a rolling shutter, which can lead to motion blur, especially if you're flying fast. With a rolling shutter, the sensor captures pixels sequentially, so the first pixel is recorded milliseconds before the last one, resulting in potential distortion in fast-moving scenes. Flying at a slower speed generally provides clearer images. Mechanical shutter drones, however, capture the entire image simultaneously, so they don’t have this issue.

@AegeanEpiphany6 ай бұрын
Seems to be unclear what is meant by ‘Map’. You covered but did not distinguish between an ortho mosaic, terrain model, point cloud and mesh. This is typically symptomatic of drone pilots that have no formal certification in geomatics/geospatial. You throw in ‘RTK’ with no context whatsoever and finally whenever a ‘map’ is under discussion its important not to ignore scale and accuracy. Its a pity when one profession dumbs down another inadvertently or otherwise. Blatantly a case of ‘if we make this look real simple and omit the complexities’ then we’ll be popular…

My Air 3 is "ANY" drone. Tell me how to do it with that one... What about walmart drones? Those are "any drone". Your title says ANY, so please elaborate. I think the better title would be, "How to map with specific models of certain drones only". There is sort of an unofficial workaround, to use unsupported drones, but they didn't even mention THAT. As they said, any drone with a camera and GPS is CAPABLE of mapping, it's just that its software locked, so you can't.
@PilotInstitute7 ай бұрын
You can map with any drone. Mapping consists of taking photos and using software to put them together. If your drone is not supported by automated capture software, you just need to manually fly the pattern that we show in the video. Everything else as far as processing in the video would still apply. And yes, even a Walmart drone. Although we don’t recommend that.
@brennanIX7 ай бұрын
@PilotInstitute yes, but it requires timing and accuracy between speed and photo intervals. Can you just do it manually? Technically. It's not optimal at all, annoying, and easy to mess up. You could have at least mentioned the workaround for modifying and replacing waypoint files through an outside program in order to make the drone do an automated map. You KNOW the way the title of the video will be interpereted, and did that on purpose for clicks and ad revenue. That's like having a video saying "how to generate professional images with ANY phone" but actually only works on a specific model of phone. But you say "no, you can use your phone to call a graphic designer and then guide them through the design process over the phone". So, technically yes, but ACTUALLY no... not at all. You know that people are desperately wanting to map with current gen DJI drones, and you're exploiting that fact in a deceptive way with this video, ESPECIALLY with the title. Not matter what you say, or how you try and justify it, your video IS deceptive and misleading. Not only did you say "any" but doubled down by saying "ANY" as to reiterate it's truly ANY drone.
Not exactly free if I have to go buy a RC Pro Controller for $1200.
