I'm happy that persons like you with knowledge are willing to reach out to them. My main question is, are they not aware that they lied in order to ensure Skydio's place in the market without competition? Shouldn't Stefanik's part in Skydio be conflict of interest and raise red flags? That is what bothers me the most to be honest. It's like anytime a Chinese based company excels this will happen, instead of the American companies putting the work in to compete. Yet, they have no problem having their parts made in China. Apple is a prime example. I would happily support American drone companies if they were creating good products.

I understand what you're saying. I've been burned no less than 5 times when I arrived on location to fly a DJI drone that wouldn't let me fly more than 40' away unless I logged into the DJI site. I use a tablet that doesn't connect to the Internet (assuming cellular service is even available). The way around this is to start everything up at home (or wherever) using wifi, login, then shut the drone and RC down but leave the tablet on with the display off. Go to your flight location and fly as usual. You can connect a power pack to the tablet if it doesn't have a long lasting battery. I think this login prompt happens after an update if the AC,RC, and app are not all restarted afterward.

When Harley Davidson started losing the 750cc motorcycle market to the Japanese makers in the 1980s, the government stepped in to rescue this American brand…. Why not use that model here? Except that here the Chinese government leans away from the way we do things in the states? What is happening here that no one wants to say?

DJI: publishes applications that do not pass security reviews in stores (DJI Assistance, all of the androiod apps). Self-proclaimed security experts making money off people with DJI drones: we don't get the ban, so unfair.

This is nothing but anti-competitive activity to benefit Skydio. When will the Justice Department Anti-Trust division and Federal Trade Commission investigate Skydio, Stefanik, and AUVSI (among others) for antitrust law violations?

No one can be that mean? Have you been paying any attention to the House of Representative sessions?

My fear is that irresponsible drone use will eventually ruin the use of aerial (civilian) drone use. For example in the recent California wildfires one of the planes used for fire fighting water was recently grounded after being struck by an aerial drone. In the past 1.5 yrs I’ve spent well over $1000 on aerial drones and they’re becoming so widespread they’re becoming a public safety issue. And a yrs or so ago I paid $200 for pilot training but I was so sick most of the year I’ve never taken the course. It’s not very difficult to see what could be very likely that the FAA or some other agency will have to step in and find some way to restrict the use of drones.

Hey, if Joe can swap us over to all EV in 10 or 15 minutes then this drone thing should be a no brainer. And that makes him a perfect candidate.

There is only drone bans among fear mongers and certain channels will hype it up for click bait

Welcome to the new reality not only is the government going after drones but anything e driven especially bikes & any other e transport they are going to regulate it & require things like a license & insurance. Just a few days ago there was a city that has cancelled a RC Crawler spot in California so this is just the beginning of a bunch of regulations for any RC user no matter what it is. And anyone with a ebike good luck.

I am a DJI owner and not happy about latest legislation, but not fair to support drones or other industries to overcharge compared to global market rate. I am an automotive engineer and Japan was harsh, Korea more harsh, now China. Unfortunately, our government in the USA has allowed companies to invest too much in China and now it it hard to find a hammer built in the USA.....GRRR!

Worried about Drones when the govt. allowed a Chinese spy balloon infiltrate our country and send back intel of various restricted areas. What a joke!

So the problem here is; Chinese surveillance through DJI Drones and microphones?

No, that's propaganda. The real problem is that the government does not represent us.

NO it's Skydio crying because they don't have a majority of the US drone market. They stopped selling a consumer drone last year. All they make now are commercial drones and they want US Defense contracts to line their wallets. They already have a government contract. Don't blame it on DJI because they own the market. Make a better priced drone to compete with DJI, no instead we are going to pay politicians and cry on Capitol Hill.

So we can manufacture SR-71 but yeah for drones we need to ban the best from other countries.
