Also still need the parachutes for flying over people if you’re over the mini weight.

Hey Greg. I work in the Media Center for my local high school, and I also run the drone program connected to our Media Club. Having a standing OOP waiver would be a game changer in terms of photographing our large student events like Pep Rally's, big event days, etc. I went to look for the new waiver application, but it was still the old one which was impossible to get granted. When will the FAA update the website and start taking the new applications?

Hey Greg, I’m seeing a lot of Drone roles starting to require a 2nd class medical. Any thoughts on this, and the possibility of this being a requirement for part 107 in the future.
@SlackerU7 ай бұрын
An annual medical exam, hopefully it works like our drivers license where you self-report/fix your issues(like eye glasses or not drinking before you drive).
@PilotInstitute7 ай бұрын
This is likely for companies that fly under a part 135 certificate, which requires pilots to have a medical certificate, like manned-aircraft pilots. It won't be a requirement for part 107 though.

With 107 certification, can I fly a 1200 ft tower outside of controlled airspace if in truth I’m only using it as a permissable sheild for being able to fly higher? That is to say, not an inspection or other such reason.
@SlackerU7 ай бұрын
Don't crash in the fence. If the fence is 400ft away from the tower then I'd avoid that tower.
@PilotInstitute7 ай бұрын
You can fly 400 foot over a manned made obstruction as long as you stay within 400 feet of the obstruction, and as long as you’re not in airspace that requires authorization. You can also only do that under part 107.

I took a pretest when it was free for 107 FAA website years ago failed on the question about having to fly over people and vehicles. Do you really have to fly over people and vehicles as requirement to have the 107 license? When I don't feel comfortable flying anything that moves beside myself. I thought of getting but not sure if it's worth doing on KZbin or sticking w Instagram w no money? I past the test by dumb luck. Since just want to share videos.

You don’t have to fly over people to get 107, but you need 107 to fly over people

There is no internal drive on a 3T. It CAN save to the RC rather than the card, but not the drone itself.

If the DJI ban goes through, will we be able to fly the DJIs we already have?
@SlackerU7 ай бұрын
It's not banned. If you want to fly DJI then you must pay double so that the firemen & police can buy an American-drone. IDK if DJI is mapping America but why not.

Not sure. We have been asking for a while now and it’s still not updated.
