Good job hearing engines shutting down completely gives it a good sense of being there

I’ll be on this same aircraft configuration and the same seat on my way to Atlanta.

Don’t forget the 737-900ER is longer than the 700 and 800 series and short runway meaning the pilot can’t do a kiss landing so they have to lane hard to slow down quickly. That also happens on runway 29 in Newark
@willwright1431 Жыл бұрын
It also looks like they landed on the left wheel first because of crosswinds coming from the left

I had a pretty hard landing in sitka from seattle, but I can understand cuz that is a super short runway on an island in a 373 900

Hard side landing almost like Ryan air’s landing
@mattthompson84874 жыл бұрын
Hard landing was because of crosswind correction. You can see at about 10ft the left wing dips from the pilot applying rudder to decrab. Not too shabby though. Also, is the window alignment at that seat ok?
@JVGordonII3 жыл бұрын
I agree!! Looks like he used too much rudder or he used the wrong rudder inputs.
@mattthompson84873 жыл бұрын
@@JVGordonII Well I think he did ok. What happened was he had a crosswind from the left so the nose is aimed left of the runway. At 14:06, he straightens the plane out (as normal) by applying right rudder to realign with the runway. Because of this, the right wing naturally wants to dip right so to correct, you have to apply left aileron deflection which is why the left wing dropped when he applied right rudder. So far, the pilot was doing everything right, however instead of pulling back gently while all of that is happening, he just left the left wheel slam down and then the right soon after. 7/10 for his crosswind skills.

How would you rate the UA flight to Hawaii you took recently on the scale of 1-10?
@Thatadventureguy3214 жыл бұрын
For their Hawaii services: I'd unfortunately have to give a 7.5. The 7 coming from it being a direct flight from the Northeast. The lower scores being from the food options offered and that it actually cost something instead of being complimentary on a 10 hour flight and old equipment even though the cabin was renovated to the newer UA fits. Still got delayed because of old A/C issues. Hope I answered your question well!

ThatAdventureGuy, were the gate agents, ticketing staff, and FA’s mean or generous? Was this plane well maintain or poorly maintained? Was this aircraft clean inside or it was trash n dash?
@Thatadventureguy3214 жыл бұрын
Very friendly flight crew, A/C did have that old feel to it with no personal air vents (gaspers) although was clean
