Probably my favorite Pilotredsky animation. Relatively "simple" from first glance, in that it could be mistaken for straightforward realism. Then you look closer... the trees are warped with their crude textures and clipping polygons, the waterfall does not move but merely uses a simplistic looping effect, while the lake shimmers beautifully with its GIF-like artifacts. It should look unnatural, but it really doesn't, it's somehow peaceful and more beautiful than life. Excellently done.

I really enjoy the art piece that accompanies this song. Feels like a landscape you'd see in an old school 3D tech demo lost to time. The movement in the waterfalls reminds me of a CRT TV screen. Excellent work, you've done it again.

I love this art! The birds just vibing still and the water fall looks soo trippy with those old TV ripples and its texture looks oddly huge in proportion to everything else.

Think it's supposed to be like those "real-life paintings" or whatever they were called where there would be a photograph of a waterfall printed onto semi-transparent material and then there would be a backlight that swept up and down behind the picture, that made it look like water was flowing.

It would be one thing to release this incredible music on it own, but the art shown alongside it really brings it all together. As always, great work Pilot.

Nostalgia is one hell of an emotion. I was in 11th grade when I first listened to all these tracks. I'm now 23 and work as a generalist at a software company. When I listen to these tracks, I feel the same emotion I felt back then, twinged with a hint of sadness. It wasn't very long ago in the grand scheme of things, but it feels like an eternity has passed between then and now. I don't even feel like the same person anymore. I think the sadness of nostalgia comes from the fact we as human beings are a ship of Theseus by nature, always changing small parts of ourselves while moving forward until we take a moment to stop and look back and realize that we've changed every part of us with something new. The old self exists only in our memories, lost forever to the sands of time, as the new self can do naught but look back through the one way glass. It makes you wonder what your future self feels looking back at you now.
