Over the next four months I will be taking you through the entire training of a student doing his commercial helicopter license from start to finish. We will be mostly flying the Guimbal Cabri G2 but he will also be flying the Robinson R44 and the R66. We will be doing every flight exercise right from effects of controls through to autorotations, all types of helicopter emergencies, confined area landings, and up to the flight test at the end.
The students name is Sam Adams and you can follow him on
IG: @heysamadams
KZbin: / @heysamadams
He is just getting his KZbin channel up and running so go show him some love.
Also be sure to check out our Instagram channels:

How to do a perfect circuit is the exercise that we are working on today.

This series of videos is just magic Misha. It must take a certain amount of time to edit the video to publish it. Really impressed and very grateful to you for your efforts in doing this and running a training school. Great work, can't wait for the next in the series...…...

I'm partial to my lowering the collective on the like, but either way it's all good. 😁 Nice work, Sam! Once Mischa is done with you, you're going to be one of the best there is, for sure. 👍👍

Great insight into all the moving parts of hands and feet. Thinking outloud is a great teaching method. Collective there is a change, cyclic there is a change and happy feet pulling it all together 🙄

Great, love the way you instruct and the area you fly. Flown some interesting things in some pretty spectacular places but wish I could justify learning to fly choppers with you but at 72 doesn’t really make a lot of sense. Haven’t tried paraglider yet. Maybe next best thing and a bit more affordable! Keep up the great example you set !

The videos that you are now doing are great. With all the experience that you show with your recent world tour and training videos I was hoping that you would start such a series. Will you be able to expand on the technical equipment that you use both on the equipment as well as flight planning? I have had the benefit of flying a Jet Ranger a dozen times or so with a friends company that specializes in long line and fire in Southern California, but other than being handed the controls in transit, I have never had the chance to learn all of the collateral technology. I am trying to figure out how to plan a similar flight learning experience with BC Helicopters! Can you recommend them! LOLRH! Seriously, your teaching methods seem exemplary. Thanks for giving so much.

Hey thanks for the message. Yes I will be expanding here and there a bit on the stuff we are using in the helicopter. That's awesome that you've gotten to take a few flights in the jetranger. Wish you all the best and who knows, maybe I'll see you some day.

Mischa hope you can keep up with the videos each day! I don’t know if you realize how much they not only help us learn, but encourage us to follow our passions. In your first video with Sam he couldn’t wipe that smile off his face! Dude has passion for it without a doubt! Haha in regards to the name for hitting the like button. I thought of (if you like this video, find the critical angle and attack that like button!) ?? I hope it sticks😂

Question 4 you or the group. New to flying helicopters in sim. When coming in on approach to land in a helicopter you lower the Collective that is tied with your throttle/engine and the pitch of the blades angle of attack lower from a climb position. But unlike a fixed wing plane on approach your attitude gauge is level or even up above horizon while the vertical indicator shows a decent. Is that right? On a plane you pull some throttle back and even if trimmed up both the attitude and VS gauge will show a decline but in a helicopter just the VS indicator will show your decent.

During your training i noticed you do a collective bump on landing to make sure the landing gear is seated, could that induce ground resonance ? or is that not a concern in the helis you use ?

Its sometimes hard to keep track of which student is which and how far along they are but this student is what 2 days in flying? If pretty good. I know helicopters don't use chocks but how about "kick out the chocks and hit that like button".

Larry Basey no problem, you can get your license in Canada and then convert back to the US really easy. You just need to meet their hour requirement of 150hrs.
