Question of the day: Have you been on a plane before?

I have never been on a plane ever in my 58 years. I’m not adverse to it, just never had the opportunity to fly. My wife is terrified of flying so we have driven everywhere we go for the last 40 years.

So glad that you and Brock checked it out. When I moved to Tucson in the 80s the museum was all outdoors. My Dad was an airplane fanatic (since he was 5 years old) so he told me about the dozen planes the museum had behind a very small building. I am so glad to see it has grown and become such a fantastic museum. Nearby is the airplane graveyard where planes are stored. As Tucson is very low in humidity they don’t rust. As they were running out of room, they actually began disabling/disassembling the planes to recycle items they could. My Grandparents worked for Boeing and it was the first time I saw a tear roll down his face. There was a lot of his work just sitting in the desert. It is interesting when I realized the family connection to the planes. If you like Ted DeGrazia artwork. The DeGrazia museum is also in Tucson. Very beautiful art work. PS Tucson is in Pima County AZ. 😊✌🏼😎👍🏼

You will love this one. It is so awesome definitely bucket list worthy. Just make sure you give yourself tons of time because there are so so many planes. I only showed probably a quarter if that of the planes that are outside.

Yes, I've been on a plane many times. This is a fabulous place and reminds me of Wright-Patterson AFB Air Museum in Dayton, Ohio!

Thank you so very much for the tour. The expansions are fantastic; such a lot of work to refurbish all those great pieces of history. Really honours the contribution made by engineers builders test pilots ground and flight crews and all. All the best.

It took me years to get on a plane and what got me on one was when my mother moved to Michigan. Luckily I only had a two hour and forty minute flight to Michigan. I would have to fly up because Mom would get sick and sometimes it would look bad for her. Unfortunately we lost her two years ago. Flying wasn’t bad but I also medicated myself with anxiety meds. I would fly again but probably only short distance. I’m from the era that had too many crashes and it definitely made an impact on my mind. Think I watched too many plane crash movies too. 😩😂

I flew on a B 17 one time. I loved it, it was fantastic. If you get the chance, take it, flying on one of the Ww 2 bombers that is.
