Thanks Mark, I brought a 8kx (thanks to Steve😉) and I am absolutely happy with it. Mark set Brightness to -2 and Contrast to +1 in PE and you will get a very good black level for flying at night. And of course backlight to 80. Setting Pimax rendering to 1.25 or 1.5 and reducing SteamVR resolution accordingly (50 % 78 %) brings you a crystal clear picture. The Motionsmothness of the Pimax Software is excellent. Don't look at fps. They are far lower as in the HP reverb G2 but is much smoother. Even with a RTX3090 it is difficult to find the right balance in relation to performance and clearity. The way is to reduce the horizontal pixel amount round about 2800 - 3100. That headset is really amazing. No more short blackouts as in the G2. But of course the G2 is in Msfs a little bit sharper. Take care

Just priced this out. With 2 base stations, it comes to US$1,900 exclusive of shipping and any tax. And that's with the current 10% discount. I'd omit the controllers in favor of a trackball velcroed to a kneeboard, but if I included controllers, it would cost US$2,250 (US$2,500 if Pimax stops offering their 10% discount)!! All I can say is "please order me a 49" LG 1440 monitor/TrackIR or an HP G2, instead." But in actuality, I won't say that; I'll stick with my LG 34" 1440, 160Hz with TrackIR for quite a while. This Pimax headset looks spectacular, but for these prices, it'll almost surely remain a low-selling enthusiast-niche product.

@Buddy3083 жыл бұрын
@@djtaylorutube I absolutely believe you, David. That’s exactly what I’d do if there were any way I could justify the price. The 8KX is magnificent. But almost no one will buy it at the astronomical price. I, for example, can easily afford it, but there’s still no way I’m going to pay over 2,000USD. Some enthusiasts will, and I’d not say it’s wrong for them. They're few and far between, though.

@@Buddy308 I don't disagree, nor am I going to say it's the best headset at that price. The G2 runs smoother and is slightly crisper and much lighter.
