This song is so soulful and the moral of this story is sad but more true today than ever! I'm looking forward to seeing Bob again in the resurrection when Jah's righteousness will cover the earth like the water 💧 covers the sea!!💯💖💖💖

“Pimper’s Paradise” appears specifically designed to help liberate women who are on a perilous path to destruction, based on a lifestyle that seemingly only benefits men. When Marley sings it, you have visions of a good girl gone bad, or even worse, a good girl being peddled. No doubt, the various women Bob encountered at the clubs, inspired this tune. It certainly isn’t an attack on women, but more like guidance and a warning of the dangers of excess. It initially appears to be a rare departure from Bob Marley’s traditional themes of revolution, liberation, spirituality, redemption, and love. But when you strip down “Pimper’s Paradise” to it’s very essence, you’ll find that it covers most of these themes in its own subtle way.

sounds like vanity of a woman, and the foolish men who fall for these type of women, but who knows, men can do same thing in different way of carrying themselves, but women to me as a man seem to be very good at manipulating a man if they want to, using emotions and sex, some are very intelligent also and can screw a guy's head up, but men do that shit too, in a different way, maybe he just thinking of a song to wright, that Gary Moore guitarist said in a interview i saw music is what it is to the listener really, and gary moore was not a selfish or vain man, but he had a good point

Time really washes away meaning. This was not about a woman. It’s a metaphor for American and the west. When Bob spoke of people in the industry trying to get him to do cocaine, etc. that’s why he’s sorry for the victims and not to lose yourself in the system as they all will eventually have to bow. It’s about America,”Every need has an ego to feed” gambling, drugs, prostitution and money over lives capitalism, all legal somewhere in America, the true pimpers paradise.
@Nicole-Antonia-JD5 ай бұрын
It's metaphorical, but not only for America but the world. Pimpers paradise = external desire to calm inner emotional turmoil. She love to party, She looks so hearty, She loves to smoke, She'll be laughin' when there ain't no joke (easy pickins - external desire) A pimper's paradise that's all she was (victim) Every need got an ego to feed (desire to be hip to fit in) She's in the scramble (urgently needs a fix) Eh! Now she is bluesing when there ain't no blues (jonesing) Soon their very heads will bow (despair) don't lose track of yourself (don't become a victim) don't be just a stock, a stock on the shelf (commodity, offering, for sale) A pimper's paradise (easy to control) that's all she was now be careful, to be careful (the warning)

I always wondered which woman Bob made this song about and the only one that adds up is Damians mom I think or whichever on of his sons were born from the model the won miss Jamaica, my mom also had this theory as she's Jamaican. He even said amosgt other things "She loves to mogel (model)" lol man what a guy that had feelings he made every song off an experience, Legend, GOAT.

Damian's mom was Miss Jamaica. Her name may have been Cindy if I'm not mistaken.

Le temps de Dieu pour chaque créature, le départ opportun à soldat marley lui est souhaité même d'un à posteriori DIEU le connaît mieux. In dire need of a righteous refactoring cover of this tune d'anthologie. I would pay for it.

I have being reviewing the Legendary Prophetic's albums that are available to me for so many years now, and am yet to find any messages Worldly or less inspirational! He was a messanger to the commoners, street people and the neglected ones, people and places who even Pastors and Iman have condemned and would not go respectively.
