Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful pincushion! I am going on a 10 person Retreat right after Christmas and I will make one for everybody attending. It has become a ritual for me to make a pincushion for them and this is definitely my choice for this year! I will make it like a sunflower in yellow and brown. I know they will love it!!! Please take care and stay safe! 🥰

I am glade to see you doing a tutorial on both the pin cushions and recycling cans. I have been making crocheted Christmas trees use the cans as a base. I also made some pin cushion for our ladies sewing group (Called The Needlers) we do volunteer work for the Veterans , the homeless, Children's, and Phoenix Hospitals. Thank you for sharing you Ideas, I like you concept.

What an easy any brilliant idea for sewing needles. I am going to use crushed walnut shells for added weight in the can and add felt on top so it won't fall out. Thank you for the easy step by step instructions and the idea for the needles

Wonderful idea about the new/used needles pin cushion! I've been using a strip of fabric marked with needle ID; your way is way better. And you did a good job on the video. Thanks, I'll look for you again.

Brilliant idea! I do get poked by the pins coming through the bottom. I’m doing this for sure! Thanks so much⭐️💖💖

I love this, so adorable! When I made it, I filled the can 1/2 way with glass pebbles for added weight on the bottom. I am using mine as a pin cushion. It has really brightened up my sewing room.

Very cute & easy pin cushion to make ♥️ the only thing I will do different is I’m going to put the open part of the can on the bottom because that way if you’re using it for your sewing machine Needles or your hand sewing needles they wouldn’t go all the way through it into the can because it would be very hard to get them out 😱

Very nice pincushion...I would mark the sections with a Frixion Pen, so if I needed to change the section name, I could just iron off the old info, then remark with the new. Thank you for a very detailed tutorial.

That pincushion is very pretty. I think I would put some sand or pebbles in the can to give it some weight so it doesn't roll around.
@HWolfe6 жыл бұрын
Sue Nuckles I like the weighted idea too. Gives it more stability. Also, they make small rounded steel pads, the look like a ball, I have used in the center of my DIY pin cushions, to keep the needles sharp.

Sue Nuckles I put stones from the Dollar Tree in the bottoms of my pincushions. Works a treat!

H. Wolfe Good idea. What are the steel balls? Guess it isn't soap pads.

Great video... The only thing I would add is weight in the can. Maybe pebbles or beans.
@sandramassey56735 жыл бұрын
That is so cute! But think I would have glued a couple of heavy washers in the bottom of the can for some weight to keep the can from moving around. But that's just me lol. Nice tutorial, thank you :)

The only thing I would change is that I would add something to the tin so it would weigh it down a little bit. Be careful of the camera position some of the steps were out of frame. This is a great project for me because I'm a beginner. Thanks
