YES finally someone who said it. I knew as soon as they showed pinless joints it was gonna be a problem for us customizers. Not just for kitbashing but for just prepping as well. I wanted to use the Peter B arms for a custom but since they’re pinless I couldn’t take it apart and sand the joint so I can’t use the arms now.
@KitbashCustoms3 жыл бұрын

How are they assembled? I mean they can't pour or inject them in a way that allows moving joints, can they? There has to be a way to disassemble right?

I just never got into the thought of pins being 'distracting'...like...its a toy and action figure. Its not a real person so of course it has pins. And pinless 'technology' is just a bane for customizers. Have me hunting down older bucks and hoarding em for future customs
@squallworks3 жыл бұрын
I just got back into customizing MLs after 10+ years, and I didn't realize how easy it is to remove pin joints in Hasbro MLs. Had a lot of bad experience with the ToyBiz ones back in the day so I made customs without removing pin joints. But now I have to deal with these pinless joints. My main issue is that the pin itself is made of PVC, so if the joint is stuck it will twist and break when you move it.
@nhyar3 жыл бұрын
I'm not a customizer but I dislike them. When the joints are loose I can't fix them the way I used to thanks to them. Some people are happy about them because "now we won't get Spidey's blue arms with red pins". Bro, Hasbro could have fixed that easily, they just didn't want to, lol.

So I have a Classified Duke that im trying to turn into a 90’s animated xmen Green soldier costume Professor X. And the duke figure has pinless arms and legs. I was gonna use some white scar to prime the figure, after sanding it, so how do I sand down the joint pieces so I don’t get any paint rub? Any suggestions, and this is my first ever custom piece and I see what you mean completely. Pinless sucks for custom work. I guess only thing I can think of is using a tip with a dremel to get as much as I can.

it would make sense if the center wasnt attached or that was the fuse point. Then you could try to pull it apart or stretch it to the center and cut there. If they are doing this with the parts heated or hot, that would explain why my torpedo has a bum knee. Doesnt bend properly and it you force it the plastic around it warps, which lets me know that something inside melted together.

You have to cut at 1 end of course. Super heated of course. But the real trick is making sure that dap of Krazy glue is just right. After attachment. You have to swivel that part right away or you know the outcome. I did that with one of my roadblock customs to replace the shoulder pin to a bigger ball to fit one of them c.o.d. figures arm portion. Thankfully all went proper. Now I have a tactical roadblock in recon gear. Different head of course. Or rather I say in jungle gear like the 1st predator movie.

I dont think its a jab at customizers, certainly makes things harder lol.
