I did something similar with my neca protomorph xeno an extracted the balljointed hips from 2020 40th big chap accept I just did cut the dremeled down center joint from balljoint hips glue sob it was tricky and lasted awhile now tweaking it switching over soldering the plastic permit mold into place undo damage mount new t-joint hip joint replacement with just standard one, probably convert old joints over to one of my preds. Great vid btw man! I dig your style.

You need to get a tool called a digital caliper (Vernier Scale) so you can measure your diameters EXACT and use the appropriate drill bit, and get a #1-#64 Drill Bit Kit. They would make it possible for you to never make a mistake, I would also suggest a brass punch set and maybe even a set of dividers (you would call it a compass) In total, you buy these on line you are out 60-70 bucks. Considering what you’re doing - it will save you $ in the long run

This worked great on a couple of my customs. Unfortunately when I attempted to disassemble the figure to prep it for painting BOTH of their pegs broke apart! Like completely! Any alternate you could recommend aside from taking apart two more figures?

@samdugan75913 жыл бұрын
Hey just a heads up. If you want to keep the pieces from shooting across the room? Get a small bowl of water. Put your nippers where you want to make your cut. Put it in the bowl and squeeze angled down a little. The water absorbs the piece. I've got a small work space and it's how I keep my floor clean. May take a little more work. But I'd rather that then step on a cut peg.
@KitbashCustoms3 жыл бұрын
Could work but also could just put a paper towel or rag over it as well, same effect less mess
@samdugan75913 жыл бұрын
@@KitbashCustoms Yeah true enough. I didn't have any paper towels handy the day I figured it out. I did have a small cub of water for rinsing out my brushes. So I went with what I had. I'll have to try your method out. 👍
