The girls seemed so much happier in the dances not filmed for the show. The show's producers don't understand that we ENJOY seeing the girls happy. That's what made the earlier seasons great. Plus the shock value of moms fighting wore off after a while, so why they made more content with the moms fighting rather than the girls having fun I'll never understand.

The competitive dance world was also much more different back then. Dance moms truly changed the dance world and it has gotten much more competitive. I think part of us was the girls not being under as much pressure

Doing an aerial blindfolded is actually just as hard as doing pirouettes blindfolded, believe it or not aerials depend on spotting just as much as turns do. So for all you who say that was not hard, it was hard. Believe me.

Shelby Wallace. Actually, if you’re a competitive dancer, you get 1-4 solos a season and compete some at a competition. The group dances are the same for the whole season and so with duets and trios. Sometimes we do the same dances from previous seasons. Dance moms just does it differently on the show.

They don't allow recording, so the cast of Dance Moms attend fake competitions, and this is the same dance, but they changed the song due to copyright issues.

The only reason the girls in the first season performed to perfection is because the girls were able to do their old routines for the show in the first season. Now they can't. Competitions like JUMP and Nuvo are competitions that do not get featured on the show. They are top serious competitions, not phony ones like the ones the producers use for the show.

Actually, at first dance moms was only supposed to be a 6episode docuseries. Abby was too lazy to choreograph new dances that the girls can only learn in 2days, so she just reused a lot of choreographed dances and costumes. After, DM got so many views, lifetime just made it a actual reality tv series.

Caitlin One Direction A lot of the competitions TheSheffields mentioned are actually real competitions. I was on my studios competition team for around 6 years and competed at Starpower and Starquest many times. Nexstar and Starbound are also very real. However the competitions featured in the later seasons are some that I’ve never heard of in my life until the show.

This is sad to watch. I love seeing the girls happy. Here in this dance, the girls were so passionate. Unfortunately, Abby and the producers killed this. The spirit, the passion, the love for what they are doing. As the show went on, there dances became more emotional. Because they were torn down by Abby, over and over. These girls had such positive spirit ad passion. To see their talent and spirit get killed by Abby and the producers is absolutely sickening. Shame on them.
