Meanwhile, over here in the UK, I once dug 37 coins out of the coin mech on one of my Asteroids Cocktail machines. There were several 10 pence pieces (the correct coin for the game, but the first one in had jammed), lots of 2 pence coins, 5 pence pieces and several 1 pence pieces. I can only assume that people had shoved the smaller coins to try and un-jam the mech.

That's all good. But it would be great if you can detail how the quarter passing through the mechanism actually triggers a game credit. Show the wiring and switch that does this. Also, please create a video (you are good at it), showing how we can put them back in "coin op order" after buying one that has been disabled. I'm basicaly putting my Royal Flush back together. This door you show here is the same one I have. I learned a ton on this short video. Switchology, schematic reading and relay theory are my next things to learn about. Fortunately most of my machine works. Except there's an intermittent issue where the startup motor does not turn off as the wheel continues to spin. I'm thinking I have a switch issue with the AX relay.

What do you use to clean out the coin mechs when you have stuck gummy and sticky Quarters or the Wrong Coins that are Stuck inside the Coin Mechs and Coin Ramps? What do you use as cleaners and cleaning tools?

On location, I usually have some extra mechs in one of my games, so if there's a gunked up mech, I'll replace it and take it home. In some cases, I have been slowly replacing the older metal mechs with the newer plastic imonex ones that seem to be more reliable. But as far as cleaning, I'll use PB blaster, then clean it up well, then use some dry lube like non-oil based silicon or graphite lube.

@@PinballHelp What brand names that you use for the Dry Lube and Non Oil Based Silicon? You just spray it into the Coil Rail and Coil Mech and the Stuck Coin will get out? I'm guessing that the newer Plastic Imonex doesn't have Coins getting stuck or soda being spilled on Plastic doesn't stick?

@@waynegram8907 I'm not sure of exact brand names - just look for non-oil based lube (dry lube). The plastic ones can get crapped up too but they don't seem to jam as bad. I don't run into a lot of "gunk" in coin mechs as much as I encounter a stuck/wrong coin and then a jam.

@@PinballHelp yes when a stuck or wrong coin you use a Non Oil Based Lube dry lube? and it will get the stuck or wrong coin out of the coil rail and coil mech?

@@PinballHelp I don't know if dry lube will clean soda because soda is very sticky and gummy. So what do you use to keep soda and gum off of coin mechs?

On bally sold for Canada, they have the option of disabling the magnet, since quarters are magnetic. Does not affect the US coins, and since they are all the same size coin for coin, and the US money is almost always worth more, it will accept both.

Are there different size/style coin mechs that only fit one type of door or will any coin mech will fit any door?

There is generally a "standard size" coin mech. However, not all coin mechs can fit all coin doors. There are some "universal" ones which have these little screw-heads you can move around in different spots to make a mech fit into a certain assembly. Different types of assemblies may have the latches/catches in different spots, so sometimes you have to slightly modify the mech. But generally speaking, they are mostly interchangeable.

Do you have a picture of the coin ramp that this machine uses?

I have a machine that rejects about half the coins inserted. I've cleaned and put silicone on everything, which stopped the frequent jamming but did nothing for the high rejection rate. I'm stumped.

Try a different coin mech. I think the plastic Imonex ones are probably the most reliable.

Pls explain with video shooting how the mechanic of this coin box works..in what ways the coin switches on the pin ball machine. I m vy interested to know how it works.
