Very cool. I like the placement of the kicker bands. The balls seem to bounce off them, nicely. Maybe open up the hole, near the bell, to increase the chance being able to ring it, more often? I'm toying with the idea of a similar project, which would involve several bells, of various sizes, and pitches. No EM components. It'll be very much like yours. Thanks for sharing. :)

All My but one of my grands are maybe beyond this but my youngest Hunter, maybe he and I can build this when it gets warmer in the garage. Thanks man for this idea. So creative and the endurance testing was a great idea too👍😊

Fun project for school! The flapper was made with two small dowels for support on each side. I drilled a tiny hole in each at the top so I could pass a small bit of wire through the holes as a hinge. Often at the hardware store you can buy a wire with a small flag they use to mark sprinkler locations in a lawn for very cheap. I then took a piece of balsa wood (low density and light) and put a long hole in it to ride on the wire. Make the wire straight but with a tiny bend one end.

Both the finished game and the prototype play really well; I congratulate you on your building skills! (The wonderful thing about pinball is that it can be really simple - like the originals, Ballyhoo and Baffle Ball, which are basically large bagatelle games - and it can still hold people's interest for hours.)

The bell in the top center of the table reminds me of Knockout a bit (the table from 1950)

The spinner uses a tiny screw into the top of a dowel as the shaft. I found some wood decorative plugs made from hardwood (dense and heavier) to act as weights at the ends of a thin dowel to keep it spinning longer. I hope you enjoy making yours!

That's very cool! Making things is so much fun! You can drill small holes in the dowels so they won't break when you put a wood screw into them. If you don't have a drill bit small enough, you can even use a small nail or even a piece of wire as a drill bit! If you have a drill press at school, that makes it even easier than hand drilling. :)

I know... sorry. All the major sites offer plans and Sketch-up, etc., but unfortunately I just build stuff as I go and not from plans.

Hi Regina. So sorry, I just don't remember, but I don't think it's a particularly exact size. 1/4" diameter maybe?
