Pinch Weld Jack Adapter - Easily Lift Your Pinch Weld Vehicle With A Floor Pump Jack

If you have a great floor jack and a vehicle with pinch welds, you have faced frustration. Without an adapter, you probably can't safely lift your vehicle if it has pinch welds.
I recently purchased the Viveway Jack Pad Pinch Weld Frame Rail Adapter with Magnetic Function for Sub-Frame Vehicle Floor Jack from Amazon. This is a really long name that describes exactly what the product is. Pinch Weld Jack Adapter would have worked as well. It worked like a champ on my wife's 2019 Nissan Rogue. Fit right over the pinch welds and had no problems lifting the vehicle. It felt safe and lifting it with my three ton floor jack felt a lot better than trying to use the Rogue's scissor jack. It was also a lot faster than a scissor jack.
The adapter held up well. It wound up with a small chip or two in the powder coat. That was expected. The lift process is metal on metal and it is an SUV being lifted. Otherwise, there was no damage or deformation to the adapter. Many of the other adapters a read about on Amazon mention damage to the adapter or having to modify it to fit their jack. This fit on the flat lifting area of my Daytona 3 Ton Super Duty pump jack. Make sure it fits your jack properly before lifting your vehicle. If it does not fit according to the manufacturer's instructions, do not lift your vehicle.
I fully expect this pinch weld adapter to provide years of service. I'm a home gamer when it comes to vehicles. This adapter will not be used like it would be in a busy shop.
Use jack stands if working under the vehicle. Never get under a vehicle supported only by a jack. And if anyone is wondering if the chock is on the wrong side of the tire, my driveway is not flat. It has a slight slope toward the street although it may not look it in parts of the video. The chock is placed behind the wheel on the street side. I have yet to have a vehicle roll up that gentle grade.

Ok I used to do roadside assistance, so I have some knowledge on this. PLEASE BUY JACK STANDS floor jacks fail all the time. You can get them cheap at a tag sale, Facebook marketplace place, etc.... (The old ones are usually better because they were built with better steal) Think of it this way. The cost of jack stands is nothing compared to the cost of the cosmetic and/or mechanical damage that you car can get if the floor jack fails at the wrong time. Also, it'll cut your time in half since you will NOT need to keep taking the spare on and off and raising and lowering the car.

The pinch weld is typically NOT the jacking point. The load bearing location is usually on the inner side of the frame behind the pinch weld.

@@xjidanx The grooves in the pinch weld are indeed where the jacking point is located. 1:20 However if you look at the Chinese “one size fits none” jacking adapter fit, you’ll see that the bottom of the pinch weld is hitting the bottom of the jacking adapter which is a no no. Examine your Nissan Qashqai emergency jack (i.imgur.com/TWuZIpa.png) and I bet that the depth of your adapter does not match the depth of the slot in the emergency jack which is designed to clear the pinch weld and support the frame by the sides of the pinch weld only.

This is all fine and dandy to 'lift' the vehicle with the jack. But there is no reasonable priced jack stand that is designed to accommodate vehicles with pinch welds.

They do make similar adapters for jack stands. I suggest measuring the top of your stands to make sure these adapters fit. There are tons of these things on Amazon. I use ramps for changing the oil on that Rogue. The video was to demonstrate the ease of lifting the vehicle with the adapter. But you are right. Jack stands or ramps are required for more than a simple tire change.

Driveway has a 2-3 degree slope down toward street. Vehicles in neutral and no brakes applied roll in that direction. Chock on street side of vehicle.
