Am I strange? It’s absolutely exciting to me to watch and listen to Mr. Chan make decisions and work on trees while clearly describing what and why. Thank you again.

I love this tree because it has no apex, it splits at the top, that's unique, I'd keep that forever. I'd want to do what ever it takes to promote the growth of the two lower branches so they catch up with the top, and thin the top a bit (I would have bit a different bullet, but I think I like the way you did it better). "very dramatic" indeed 🙂 !!!

A definite improvement! Very interesting old pine the neglecte of those bottom branches gave way to interested character. Sparse works here

Beautiful tree. I'm going nuts trying to decide what to keep and what to cut on one of my older pines. This design gives me an idea of what to do.

Love your thought processes Peter! I have wonderful memories of my visit to Herons this year! And a lovely long video of the two of us talking and walking around your stunningly beautiful paradise. I still faithfully watch your videos every Wednesday and Sunday. It gives my week some defined structure. Unfortunately my spinal problems are still there and I find it frustrating as I love working with my hands. Anyway I do the best I can. Sending you lots of wishes for a long and healthy life. Your friend, Jyothi.

When you were talking about what to do to the tree I was thinking of actually tilting the tree to the left about 30deg or so it would look like a tree that was going on a mountainside.

An excellent tree. It looks like a real-size, troubled Scots Pine! Conforming to literati criteria isn't necessary with this. See what the back-budding offers next year.

It's interesting as a novice bonsai grower to watch the minds think and design. I prefer a larger bonsai but I also like smaller ones as well. I have a very specific plan with mine, letting someone else trim and work on them would mess with me haha. I have a while to go on my pines as they are only a few years old now. I have a question for you, would you put sphagnum moss around young pins to encourage mycelium? Will it grow on it's own or should I help it for the trees health?
@2702simmo

If the young trees growing now don’t worry the mycelium will grow itself

@@2702simmo It's growing well actually. I figured it would but with it being in a pot with different soil than I took it from I was curious if I needed to help it any.

Pines and fagus produce mycelium automatically. Although some spores put in the soil would help.

Geese there guys. I think this is one of those anxiety laden video experiences where, well, every time Peter picks up his clippers, waving the clippers around, who knows what will happen? Ya know. Almost too much drama to tolerate. Whew. Definitely repot this one, maybe more angle. The angle. Definitely the angle. Oh yea Peter, I wanted to report that I found a hole bunch of big red ribbon bows at a discount store here in New Hampshire and yesterday spent the afternoon gathering hemlock cuttings from a young grove growing in the woods. Tying the cuttings together with wire, then a red bow and then on the house for Christmas. Thought of you through this process. ✨🌟❤🌟✨

Sir Peter Could you have keep All foliage for Now ,then use the Trunk Splitter and Bend the Top Down in phases and Let it Recover from the Splitting and maybe do some thread Grafting to help the Trunks out? Peter you always told Us not to push our Bonsai Tree? Thanks again Sir Peter. Love to Visit you but I would have to Move there because I would want so many of Your Beautiful Pre Bonsai trees.
