R matsutake mushroom really grow in dry ground. The ground looks very dry & dusty. I will be dead with the dust bcoz of my allergy if I were to forage & pick😅😂but it looks very relaxed to do.

They can grow in wet area's. This year was just too dry, and now we are getting lots of moisture. 👍

I am so amazed, so is there a lot of Khmer that picks mushrooms? I’m just curious. I should move to Oregon 😅

Most of them go out and pick to get away from the city. I was at a gas station, getting gas today. I saw a convoy of them heading to go pick.They come in droves. 😆 Me and Smiley counted 15 + peeps. I see that every weekend. Koreans as well. I think most of them love pine mushrooms and are addicted to foraging. I know I am. 😆 🤣 😂 guilty!

I heard Estacadia on the Oregon side, and Trout Lake on the Washington side has them. I found some near Mt hood, but not a lot. 😃

No, Had many run ins with them. We each go our separate ways, I do carry just in case . Now, Cougars are the ones that worry me. 😟 So far, there are no unpleasant meetings with any of them. 🙏

Matsutake in Japanese, which translates into Pine Mushroom , and that's what we call them here. 😀
