I live in the heart of The Black Hills near Mt Rushmore. Starting in October the trees shed pine needles... Tons of them! I have 100 lifetimes of them. I make these baskets and just give them away. I've prob made over 100 in two years. Each one is different. I listen to audio books, watch movies etc... It's my chill time for just me! love learning new styles and tips thx

You sound a lot like me. I'm in the middle of the largest Ponderosa pine forest in the world and get burried in needles every fall (and spring). While I learned to make baskets a long time ago, I started making them seriously during Covid. Now I make around 50 or so a year. I'm addicted. :) --Jennifer

I started making baskets with South Florida Slash Pines because of this channel! Would you happen to know what species of pine needle you are using?

I'm so happy to hear that!!! I live in northern Arizona (in the mountains), so I usually use Ponderosa Pine needles. My brother lives in Florida, though, and when I'm there, I gather up South Florida slash pine needles. They are about 4 inches longer than Ponderosas and the color is much deeper. You're so fortunate! --Jennifer
