Excellent video. Thank you for posting. I just learned that it is indeed Pine Siskins showing up at my feeder (with others) here in North Carolina in January 2023. Whenever I restock the feeders one brave little Siskin is the last to leave and will often stay perched when all the other birds have flown to wait nearby for their next refill. I need to politely ask that they move so I can refill.😊

Nice footage and very helpful, thanks! We are having an irruption of siskins here in So. Oregon I guess, at least I do not remember seeing so many before. And I had thought they might be lesser goldfinches but now I have a clear idea of the differences.

Very nice video! I would mention to those birders just starting that the Goldfinches are in their Winter plumage and much easier to ID when they are in their Spring and Summer plumage. Your video is very good about showing the differences between the two though in winter and as they pass through. I have also noticed that they do seem to travel together as I just had the two (Siskin and Goldfinch) groups arrive today in East Central Missouri along the Mississippi River. Wonderful to see migration all over the country!

Thank you, I am in Spokane WA and was having trouble telling if they were female Siskins or female Cassins Finch. This helped.
