That tree planter is so cool!! Tree breaks SAVED the dust bowl! They cause a wind break & keep the soil from eroding. You can still see some of the original trees by satellite. I’m having a TripleRFarms binge today to get caught back up. I just love watching our farmers from all over the country & seeing the different crops & techniques

Daniel, love the videos! Spent 30+ years in the welding supply business, you can buy a fire blanket that would help protect you when in those situations. Also, I heard that torch "popping" - that pop is the flame trying to burn back into the torch. I would suggest a good set of Victor flashback arrestors for your regulators. I've seen some pretty bad accidents due to not preventing that fire from getting to the tanks. Just a thought, Be Safe!

Like I said, I watch a lot of farmers & the ones that started precision planting loved them. Saw a big difference. That & soil testing with variable fertilizer programs. Ag tech is amazing…as long as it’s working.

Watching that tree planter reminded me of 1997. It rained all spring and our tobacco plants got way to big for the normal tobacco setter so we had to use an old drag type setter that worked the same way as the tree planter. It was ancient and you sat right on the ground with your legs in front of you. You had to listen for the water to click then put the plant in. Man we ended up setting 7 acres of tobacco with that thing only planting about a half acre a day with it. Anyways enjoyed the video glad Thomas is doing better and look forward to the next one. Good morning granny couldn't forget about you hope your doing well.

It’s about time to upgrade to a center fill planter! Two happiest days of my farming life were baler stripper and center fill planter. I built a 16 row stack fold with an old cyclo air box and JD planter units. Worked great! But when Deere came out with there center fill? I bought two 😎

Lots of pines are still planted by hand, especially in rough terrain and clear cuts where you can't operate machinery. Dibbles and sacks of seedlings! I did it for a couple of summers back in college. It's work!
@jimpolk
@jimpolk Жыл бұрын
@@tommathews3964 yeah I know as a Boy Scout we did it with just a spade shovel and a burlap sack thrown over our shoulder full of seedlings. Just stick the shovel in, bend it back & put the seedling in, pull the shovel out & move on to the next one. I thought that's how they still did it.

Will you be planting trees on the land they harvested trees over the summer or will you put it to grass. Most of it seemed too step to run row crop on. But would make great videos when you harvested on the side hills. Seems it would have a little too high of pucker factor from the side hills.

Sorry but I hate seeing farmland planted to trees. It is done for various reasons I know but I still don't like it. I had a neighbor who died a few years back. He had about 1800 acres of some of the best farmland around here. The farm was split up among the three children. Most of it was promptly sold off and the new owner planted pine trees on it. The center pivots were sold off it and two twelve inch gravel pack wells were capped. One was less than five years old. Neighbor on one side tried to lease one of the wells and offered to pay for all the pipe it would take to be able to use it. Owner said no. People are such butt holes. A total waste of a good well. I am 64 years old and have seen this farm grow some record breaking crops of cotton peanuts and soybeans most of my life but no more. All I see now is damn pine trees...
