I’m going through this right now. 37+weeks pregnant and I was so emotional about the possibility of a C-section. I promise you I felt every tear you shed and the ones you held back. I just want to say, Andrea, that I completely understand. For those who truly enjoy the whole birth process (like I do), it feels like a bit of a let down. Of course, as believers, we KNOW God is in control and that He directs our steps. But it still makes us sad, doesn't it? I just want you to know that I understand. Oh, dear Andrea, I am so sorry. I haven't had a c-section, but have had many unexpected hiccups in my labor and deliveries. I think with pregnancy hormones, unexpected changes make these issues significantly disappointing and often it resembles a grieving process at least for me it has. With my own issues, I've often felt like my body failed me, but eventually, a healthy baby and mom is what matters, and eventually you forget for a time (I think I still struggle with birth trauma) the difficulties in bringing that child to the world. Sending you a big virtual hug and saying prayers for you tomorrow morning. Many blessings!

I had all the feelings of being cheated out of a normal birth with my first baby and ended up having three C sections, all with healthy babies. I had a version done with my son back in 1988. Twelve hours afterward he flipped right back to a footling breech. So we did a c section and all was wonderful, truly. It’s His plan, not ours. Hugs to you.

My fourth baby was also breech. My midwife was able to manually turn the baby into normal birth position without the use of any drugs. It wasn't comfortable, but it worked.. I wish you and your baby all the best!

I have had both. My first baby was breeched and I felt just like you. I had a plan and my little dream was burst in a matter of minutes. But then the nurses and doctors put on soft music and we joked and laughed through the whole thing, then I heard him cry and I close my eyes now and I can hear him (all I can hear is his cry and my heartbeat) one of 2 of the most beautiful seconds of my life. You got this, your little baby will be healthy and just like a vaginal birth as the years pass by you cant quite remember the discomforts all you remember is the joy!!!

I too have a breeched baby, and my fourth, and all those same thoughts of potentially mourning an experience that may not happen. I’m scheduled to try and have my baby turned in couple days. I’ve been doing spinning baby movements and they seem to help- but not quite sure just yet. while I had feared the unknown, THE LORD is my Peace. at the end, I just desire a healthy baby boy- and I too believe He has a plan. Awe…sweet, sweet Andrea. I mentioned in one message to you, both my daughters had c-sections and they were not planned. They had gone through hours of labor and completely exhausted only to end up with emergency c-sections. Of course our youngest daughter’s 2nd pregnancy was a scheduled C-section because of the first delivery . Your emotions ( woman’s emotions ) are all over the place even with a normal delivery. Why God has this happen….we do not know…but what we do know and hold onto is “His will will be done “… and I take great comfort in knowing His will will be done in my life. Hold onto to that and I know you do. Most importantly is “healthy baby and healthy Mom” . I believe your husband can still video when they lift that precious newborn up and the element of surprise will still be there…just not as we planned, but God’s plan. Know prayers are being said for that little one to flip and they do ! But if not, you know it is in God’s glorious hands. God bless this delivery , God bless Andrea to be strong and God bless this new life coming into this world with a healthy body, soul and heart ! In Jesus name I ask….Amen 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Major surgery plus childbirth is so much harder to recover from. I pray you give yourself grace through the recovery time. First, thank you so much for sharing your experience. I’ve recently had two ECVs and think that it’s important to share so that others can advocate for themselves. I had my first ECV with the same medication to relax my uterus and it was painful and my blood pressure dropped drastically. They stopped after about 1 min of trying. They monitored me very well and took care of me. They agreed to do another one while still 37 weeks but with a very mild epidural. Please, if it’s not offered, please request and advocate for pain management so that the doctors can be successful if possible. Much love to everyone!

Oh Andrea, you are so upset and emotional. Please don't overthink this. A C-section is not that big of a deal. I've had three C-sections. There were also C-sections for my mother, my mother in law, my sister, my daughter, my daughter in law and numerous friends. The bottom line is that you want what is the safest way of bringing a healthy baby into the world. You will recover a bit slower than with a vaginal birth, but you will be totally okay. I have four grandkids who were delivered by C-section...they are my pride and joy and there is no difference between them and my other grandkids, who were delivered vaginally. Now let go and let God. All will be well!

My first son of 3 was breech. I had no idea, was overdue 10 days & my Dr. told me he doesn’t deliver breech. Steven was born 8 lbs 13 oz by csection and we couldnt have been happier. I felt great post op. He was followed by 2 more boys, 4 yrs later and then 3 more years after son #2. Both were VBAC, with lots of pain and some tearing. Having a C section was the easiest delivery for me. We were just grateful for a healthy child with no intervention or manipulation. I think people overthink “natural” whether it concerns birthing or breastfeeding. No tears or regrets here, it was all good, love my sons. Worry less and look forward to the new baby! Alice in 🇨🇦

I've had both a vaginal birth and a C-section for my twins. My twins were born 8 weeks early and the entire experience was pretty intense. I can look back and be so grateful to have had a great vaginal birth experience, and to live in a time where my babies delivered via C-section are now thriving 5 year olds even though they were so tiny and needed so much help. If I had lived a 50-100 years earlier things could have turned out so differently. I thank God for the place and time he put us all in. Prayers for a smooth and safe delivery. One day this will all just be a good story to tell this little one about.

Andrea, my sister was sideways when my mom went into labor. My dad laid his hands on Mom's stomach before the doc did an ultrasound to try and move her (this was 32 yrs ago). He told my sister she needed to move so mommy could have her. They walked to the ultra sound room, the doc did the ultrasound, and came out crying with an update. My sister had flipped and was ready for delivery. God has you both in His hands.

Andrea , God is with you , and will be all during your C Section. My daughter had to be induced at 38 weeks . She went through hours of labor and pushed for three hours before having to go for a C section, because baby was stuck . This is her first baby , and , like you , she waited to find out the gender . God gave them a beautiful, perfect baby girl , 8.5 lbs ! And the best part is , she was born on my birthday!! She turned one week old on Tuesday , and we are so in love with this baby !! My daughter is healing well from her surgery, and baby Abigail is nursing well and such a contented baby ! I’m excited to hear the blessed news about your sweet new one too ! Tomorrow is the big day !! Hugs to you .

My first was an unexpected csection, found out last minute that my baby was breech, needles to say I was crushed, cried so hard but once my baby was out I “almost” forgot all about it (thanks wound for reminding me lol), thankfully I was able to deliver 4 more babies naturally, including two home births, sometimes things don’t go as planned but that’s life and at least we have assurance God is with us... congratulations on the birth of your sweet baby
