I love the antique wood shelf. I think it would also look great in a bathroom to hold folded towels, toilet paper, Q-tips & cotton balls in antique glass jars, perfume bottles, dried flowers in a old enamel pail or porcelain chamber pot, etc.

You could try taking the glass out of the frame that holds the "dark picture" ... I've done that with most of my artwork and it really does make a difference to no have the glare or as you mentioned, the "mirror effect" Just brush the dust away with a clean new paintbrush.

I agree about removing the glass. Maybe you could apply a Mod Podge surface to protect it and creat the illusion of a painted surface. It is, though, extremely dark for your color way. Your home is so beautiful!

You could do the two smaller prints on the same wall together and remove the glass from the larger print, the colors might come through more.

Hi Andrea, I love your new crude shelf in your dining room; it really adds to the organic feel you have going in there with your table and your mirror! Do you have any frames that are just the frames with no glass or picture in them? A larger one around that little square picture you have (that the nail kept falling out of the wall 😂) a old frame with some good patina that could go around the little picture would look really good there! thank you for taking us along with you two to look at items with you and your husband!!

I think the shelf looks better than the green piece, it seems too small for the wall. Have you ever taken framed prints apart after you buy them, sometimes they just need to be cleaned, the glass may be dirty on the back, I always took mine apart, and made a huge difference! Love the small gold frame print but too small for the spot, maybe above the one that was there before! Great finds!

The bigger picture is to dark for your dining room wall, perhaps you can find a place for it that has a lot of natural light, so you can see the actual picture. That market looks like fun, my hubby and I love going to those too.

The primitive shelves are beautiful... However yes rustic.. if I were to walk into your dining room I'd be shocked at how good your eye is at such a young age it's beautiful and I get the whole concept...

The green table looks better in general. However, the rustic piece looks very nice too. If using the primitive shelf I would put something colorful atop it and use a horizontal mirror to balance it. You could switch out the two from time to time also.

I love your new shelf! It looks much like a homemade bucket bench!! The bucket bench was used to hold buckets and crocks, now you have a nice bucket bench for current or new collections!!

I love the idea of taking the glass out of the frame for your new print - have you considered layering it I front of your mirror in the dining room? The light reflected from the mirror might help to balance the darker moody tone of the print!

The shelf is a great find, i think some pieces add character, so i actually like it in the dining room. The dark picture will probably look great at your sisters house as she has more dark and moody colors..and the picture may be seen better, your home bounces a lot of light around , my home is the same way lots of light ,i had a picture i loved but you couldnt see it, i gave it to my daughter and it looks great on her walls, she also loves dark and moody colors.so it accentuated and showed the picture , and i saw details that i didnt even see before when it was on my wall.
