SORRY Im watching from the UK and dont understand some of the ingredients used in that hot topping. Could you PLEASE write out the full recipe 🙏
@BootsAndBonnetWithChrisChristy Жыл бұрын
I’m so sorry I am just seeing this. To make the icing you boil one stick of butter, 6 ounces of evaporated milk, and one cup of sugar for two minutes. Then you add 1 cup of coconut flakes and one cup of pecans. Enjoy.
@honeyfromthebee11 ай бұрын
I'm not sure how much a stick of butter is in the UK, but in the US it's generally 1/2 cup or about 113 grams, just in case additional clarification would be helpful

This would have been the perfect pineapple cake if I would have stuck to my gut feelings and put in 1 tsp of salt not 4 as you stayed on your clip. So sad have to make another one because I’m totally bummed😮. I am not a real baker just learning so I’ve learned I must go with what I’ve learned about baking so far. Thank you.
@BootsAndBonnetWithChrisChristy Жыл бұрын
It’s 1/4 teaspoon of salt. You can plainly see we did not put 4 teaspoons in it.

The cake looked so sumptuous that I had to try it. The actual cake batter didn't taste that good, not even after baking. The butter mixture is amazing and really makes the cake. But would I make this cake again? No I wouldn't. As a cake it's not that great. But I might try the butter mixture in another cake.

It looks like a 9" x 13" which is pretty common in the US, so something with similar measurements would probably be fine. Also, most cakes are baked at 350 F, but without a fan.
