This is the way we used to drag race. This is the very heart & soul of the sport. Line up, rev up , drop the hammer & go. NO long burnouts, NO 15 person crews, NO multi million $$ sponsors. Just you & your car and the strip, out having a GOOD TIME! Lets go back to those days. I sure loved them.. Great event & Thank you for posting it. STAY REAL. Rick

I think the word is spreading quickly. If the weather cooperates. I bet that we'll have a pretty big turnout next year.

This is great. The way it started racers who built and drove modified factory production cars. It is not the same sport now. At top levels highly advanced and successful (0-330mph in 3.5 seconds) amazing but, it's corporate commercialized. Top fuel teams show up in multiple moving vans with dozens of paid crew members and the drivers are like celebrity jockeys at a horse track they only come out of the luxury motor home to drive the car and sign autographs.

I agree 100%. I don't follow any professional racing anymore. Everything is so regulated. I miss the days of creativity and back yard engineering.

@@Maine_A_S I'm so old I remember when guys (with full time jobs) would, in their time off, build their own drag cars, tow them to the track, drive them and tune them up between rounds. Now pro mechanics are like celebrity rock stars or pro athletes who make millions.
