Jeff Sneider is really freaking weird… I would take everything he says with a massive grain of salt. Even if there’s truth to what he says you should still be skeptical. Jeff admitted he had to fight his way to get into the first DC event Gunn held to reveal his plans for his universe because no one likes him. But if you look back at the questions he asked during said event you’ll see why no one in Hollywood likes him. His questions were pretty much out of hand bs, I remember him making a big deal about Gunn not wanting to answer his hypothetical scenario about abortion laws and how he would tackle Rachel Brosnahan needing an abortion if he would film on a conservative state.

I believe in DC. Use the source material! Gunn hates lore and has messy canon. So those who say they are DC fans and Gunn never misses etc, I don't believe them, to me they are a Gunn fan 1st. Same goes for Snyder, I prefer his stuff, used lore, but stuff still needed fixed. I'm DC 1st and foremost, same goes for Marvel, Directors come and go, but USE the lore!

I grew up on that 1999 Mummy Franchise, it holds an extremely special place in my heart, but those movies had more than a dash of camp to them. I don’t want to sound negative, I have a lot of hope for this film, but Captain America and The Mummy were generic AF. A lot of people fear this won’t be bad, but just… fine. Which is what James Gunn films generally are. They are OK, they are safe, kids love them and they find a balance between heart and goofy fun. This is Superman though, we haven’t had a genuinely good Superman film since the 1980s, and we need more. I hope Gunn can do it, let’s see.

I agree with a lot of what you said, but.................I do think Man of Steel is genuinely a good film. I think a lot of people may argue maybe it's not a good Superman film in particular because it lacks some key fundamental traits of superman, but it at the very least.........It is a good film. Very competently made actually. And I think at the end of the day, it counts for something. It was much better than Superman Returns from my point of view. I agree with your Gunn stuff though, that's pretty on point and is a good summary. I myself will not be counting on this movie being any good, but I actually am hoping I am wrong as I wish Superman the best. I just don't think Gunn has it though, specifically for this movie.

I would have went with the Classic house of El symbol and better fitting costume etc. Looks like Starlord with a Kingdom Come/Superman/Authority symbol slapped on his chest. Bizarre decision tbh. Infact there's lots of bizarre decisions from what I can see so far. For one, far too many extra B/C list DC characters for a 1st movie. As a long term DC/MARVEL fan I like the past respected, that goes for any comics, movies, directors, cast etc and especially respect fans who might like stuff different from one another, not bashing someone because they like someones work, be it comics, movies, animation or whatever. The fans need United not divided and calling people cultists etc, all the stuff that has went on for years etc is just not on. We all want DC to do well, but you have to make better decisions than what has been happening so far. DC is a multiverse...USE IT!

I personally loved Man of Steel didn't like Batman V Superman and I hated Joss Wehdon's JL corpse of a Snyder film, however I did like Snyder's Justice League that was actually very good. But I really hope Gunn's Superman film is good and fun. But I also hope he gets these cameos right because they too have diehard fans. Also another thing that hurts the movie is Gunn's treatment of Cavill. Now I know some Gunn fans will say "he never hired Cavill", wrong but WBD did so yes Gunn fired him, and there was thousands of ways he could have handled it and didn't, but instead lied about it.😒 If Gunn were more honest with the fans there wouldn't be so much hate. Remember when the director of Sonic came out and said "we're pushing the film back cause we want to get it right ", fans were okay with that and Sonic turned out to be a great film. That's all Gunn has to do is be honest for a change 😉

Those second third level characters are only known to Comic-Con people and they are not enough of the movie going audience to carry a film.
