Gunn wouldn't have risked his entire future at DC on a movie that wasn't superbly well written, and well made. I have a feeling that his movie is going to be the bar that all future super hero movies are going to strive to be.

People can have their own take on which portrayal of Superman they like. They can like the darker version. Personally I’d prefer the more classical Superman where he’s less of a killer and more happy. Now I’m well aware Superman has a past when he’s done some dark things before, that’s just not the version I like. I mean I do like DC being dark and rated R I’m just saying not every character needs to be like that imo.

Look sometimes I am watching Superman in Lowe's on the CW it has a teeny bit of comedy but it's always serious when it needs to it has their little moments but I think Tyler makes a great Superman he looks like Superman he acts like Superman and that's the way it should be not so comedic not so serious you know Superman we'll see what happens I hope the movie turns out to be good cuz this guy looks great in that Superman suit though it looks different it looks like Superman we'll see😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

A relatively serious film that's _pretty_ family-family sounds like the sweet spot for a great Superman film. He's already said in the past that, unlike Guardians, he did not write Superman as a comedy, so this isn't a surprise. Most Superman stories usually have some levity, though, even stories with very serious themes. A Superman adaptation should never be joyless.

Guardians of the galaxy 3 was serious toned movie but i noticed that everytime a scene was emotional or serious, gunn would add a joke or humor right during the serious moment which i thought was unnecessary.

A good Superman movie shouldn't be a comedy. Even Christopher Reeves Superman movies weren't comedic. It should be heartfelt, yes serious, heroic and fun. NOT FUNNY. Superman IS NOT A JOKE CHARACTER. Superman is a very serious character believe it or not. I don't trust James Gunn to give a Superman movie the respect it deserves.

Superman has always had a light tone with humour it’s literally part of his disguise Clark Kent is goofy that’s the fucking point I cannot believe everyone thinks superman is this serious not smiles no jokes it’s literally a part of the character now he’s not fart joke goofy but he’s always been a lighter character that sometimes deals with serious tones that doesn’t make him an overly serious no cracking a smile character. Just goes to show what Snyder has done to the perception of the character

I never understood why the Snyderverse was cancelled. With a few exceptions, for me, was perfect. We are'nt in 1978 anymore. The WB and DC were ruthless for both Snyder and Cavill.

He said "relativily serious" not "dark" because man of steel is Dark! The movie of guardians have hilarious moment but is essentially a tone serious.

This is like the Dark Knight going back to Adam West's Batman, not to thrilled w/ that. Superman comics lost popularity because he was to goody two shoes & wholesome (CORNY) & that's WHY they killed Superman in the comics to shake stuff up. Of course there the few who like the campy stuff, the money will talk & i don't trust ANYTHING Gunn says, he lies A LOT. I prefer the edgy stuff, even when i was a teenager which is why i gravitated towards the DC darker movies over the kids popular Marvel. Man of Steel was bad ass SUPERMAN to me, a matter of preference.

In all honesty, he could say that he's making the movie serious if he wants. The fact that his Superman is dressed like a colored rainbow with diapers and personally guaranteed to be comedic is enough for me to not watch it. That and Gunn tore up Snyder's new 52 best costume. There may be multiple, but that shows complete disrespect to Cavill's Superman. I'll just wait and save my money like everyone else should and wait for the inevitable Snyderverse return through Universal. Profits matter.
