Another lonely miner’s cabin out in the middle of the desert. Built in 1909, this one roomed home is the last remaining building of a once prominent mining camp abandoned in the 1950s. Rediscovered by two men in 1977, it was lovingly restored with many improvements, including a porch and an outhouse. Now volunteers maintain the cabin, which can be used by explorers. If you do pay a visit to this cabin, please remember to pack out all your trash - leave nothing, take nothing, and help preserve this little piece of mining history for future generations to enjoy.

It’s amazing what you can come across in the desert! Out in the middle of nowhere, in a very remote location and hidden in a wash. Could you live here? If you know this area, please share the memories, not the name or location. Thank you. Nice cabin. Those are called "Dutch doors", Andrea. They for short people🙂. Don't worry you do have that extra half inch. Now comes the question; Who had to skip to the Loo. Come on, there was only 2 of you there. Seven A.M. next Tuesday i'll be waiting to put another pin in your atlas. Can't put them in mine anymore. Don't know where they are at. Oh dear, maybe that's why i got them all over the wall.

In England we call them stable doors, so the horses can look out at the world going by. It may have been a tommyknocker who really had to go as we didn’t see another soul.

It gives "a labor of love" a real deep meaning, really! To have this cabin so well maintained by several people, that does speak volumes. Hey, Andrea. I read "Pilgrims Progress" while a child, and then reread it as an adult, and then read the next book about pilgrims wife and children going the same path to find him. Very touching.

Amazingly I know exactly where this is. I used to use this route on my way to a spot I have been camping in for the last 20 years. ( which I wont mention) It is indeed in a remote spot in the middle of a very bleak badlands landscape. I wondered how anyone could stay there in the summer given the low elevation and intense heat. My "spot" is about 6 miles from this place but further in. In all the years going here I have never seen a soul, probably because its not exactly a "pretty" area by most peoples standards, but fascinating nonetheless. Did you keep going or go back the way you came in? So impressed you found this place. I'm wondering if it has stayed in such good condition because of the location.
@PinInTheAtlas

Once again, I’m quite impressed with your filming and production chops. That shot at 10:00 zooming out through layers of bullet riddled metal was awesome and that little trick with the subscribe overlay at 12:20 was very fancy! Now, I know you can’t divulge your locations, totally understand why, but how do you guys find places like that? Cause if there’s something you can point me to, I’d love to do the research and check these places out too. I live in San Diego so I’m fairly close to the Mojave area which is where I suspect you guys were at. I must say, your channel is coming along quite splendidly, Lone Ranger & Tonto… lol

Hi Ralph. Glad you are enjoying our new camera angles and editing techniques. We’re trying different things and still have lots to learn. As far as finding the locations are concerned hours are spent on google earth, looking at maps and putting obscure things on the search engines to see what sticks. I’ve found certain websites which are great. Also libraries and historical societies. I’ve even been known to contact the police and park rangers and have had great success. We have a pretty good reputation with them as they know we don’t give out locations and have respect for the areas we document. Hope that helps.
