PINION SMART.SHIFT - Start-Up & Good to know

Pinion, I have been running a pinion p18 as an early adopter, shifting has never been a problem for me as haptic feedback makes it easy for me to be the clutch. Thank you for the beautiful product. I have been using the go-Swiss speed hub for 8 years in conjunction with the pinion, and it works great, unfortunately they are no longer a viable option and mine is showing it’s age. In researching a replacement I am hard pressed for a good alternative. The clean system that go-Swiss had is hard to find, along with torque sensors they employ cadence and ground speed sensors to deliver a natural riding experience, the one’s I find available to me are like a motorcycle ride,I want to cycle. Can you please advise? Thank you in advance for you experience and expertise.

Smart.Shift Getriebe werden nicht einzeln an Privatpersonen verkauft und derzeit nur in ausgewählten E-Bikes verbaut.

@emilius1238 doch wird, man kann es als Privatperson kaufen. Ich baue mir meine Bike damit. Habe mir ein Fatbike mit Pinion Getriebe und Schaltzügen gebaut. Bin gerade dabei jetzt mir ein Rennrad zubauen mit diesen Pinion Smart.Shift

Ich habe seit ein paar Tagen einen Stromer ST7 mit Smart Shift. Bei gemütlicher fahrt schaltet das System recht smooth. Wenn ich bei höheren (>30km/h) Geschwindigkeiten jedoch aufhöhre zu pedalieren und danach wieder einsetze beginnt das System wie mit einem harten Schlag wieder zu arbeiten. Ist das normal? Muss das wirklich so sein. Kann dies justiert werden? Was schafft Abhilfe, damit es smoother wird? Danke für eine Rückmeldung

Ich würde das PINION SMART.SHIFT gern in einem Zerode Bike fahren. Am liebsten als 18 Gang Version. - Ist hier was in der Zukunft geplant? Das Zerode ist kein E-Bike. - Wie relevant ist eine Ganganzeige? - Wird eine Version ohne E- entwickelt? Ich nutze einen Lupine Akku 7,2V für die Beleuchtung am Rad. - Kann ich damit den Schalthebel und das Getriebe mit den 7,2V des Akkus versorgen? PS: Ich hoffe ihr entwickelt die non E-Bike Version ohne die zwanghafte Nutzung eines Handys.

You can also shift our non-electric gearboxes while pedaling or while standing. Only if you shift under load, you may have to use a bit more force on the gripshifter.

​@@dantheman1945 No worries, the inernals are very robust, you won't break anything easilily like that. Of course you shouldn't shift like that everytime on purpose, but sometimes different riding conditions leave you no other choice.

Hallo, kann ich bei meinem aktuellen Rad mit einer Rahmenbrücke, in der ich bisher die P1.12 genutzt habe, die komplette P1.12 gegen die Pinion C1.12i Smart Shift austauschen bzgl. Maße und Schrauben?

Hallo, grundsätzlich haben alle unsere Getriebe (bis auf die Pinion MGU) die selbe Rahmenbrücke. Daher wäre der Tausch der Getriebe möglich. Smart.Shift braucht allerdings noch eine externe Stromversorgung, hierfür gibt es auch schon ein externes Akkupack von uns. Sprich am besten mit deinem Pinion Fachhändler.

I hope they can work with some other electric drive manufacturer and make the entire pinion and drive into a center mounted package... that will be the most exciting thing for the pedal assist market

Aber bitte macht das Blech der Snubberrolle und die Feder schwarz. Das nackte Rohmaterial passt nicht zur Gesamtanmutung von nem ST7.

If you are talking about this e-Bike it's a S-pedelec and goes up to 45 KM/H and other Pedelecs are limited at 25 KM/H, but that is only where the motor power stops you can cycle beyond that and be faster at anytime.

Sports mode broke after 16kms in 32 ambient today and I was being SUPER slow, as if that's possible. This thing is over-torqued (52nm) and its motor "air-cooling" (!) flaw is now getting very effin annoying. After 2300kms I expect it to have run-in and all firmware limiting to be cancelled. To my mind it's not even fixable. You cannot drill disc-brake type air-holes in the motor casing cos of the rain. You either live with it or stop every 20 mins for a 30 to 60 minute wait with battery out of bike to cool down. Those illegal (in Switz) Revolution XX and Stealth bikes now seem quite attractive. 15000 francs for 20 minutes of fun and then 70 more of struggling (when you get to MY age) because S-Mode is not available is commonly known as a con. I have a new name for Sports Mode:- 'Crippled Mode'
