Love it! Only thing when I was in culinary school we were told we have to use everything that’s edible I would have gotten failing grade for not using non edible items

Hey there Peaches I'm glad you loved it. With regards to using non edible items, precautions and common sense generally need to be applied in any scenario. For example wedding cakes, it is very popular around the world to use 'dummy cakes' with foam inside and in which case the caterers or someone in charge in the kitchen should know about it. In this case the cone has been sealed with a layer of chocolate however in support of your comment it's definitely good practice to let people at the function know the cone shouldn't be eaten 😉 Cheers

Hi Mariel, I guess you could use floral paper if you prefer, provided the colour compliments the strawberries and flowers. The idea of using 'cheap' chocolate for the cone is to keep it simple and the small gaps between the strawberries doesn't look too obvious because it is the same colour and texture. It's just a matter of preference and works best for you ;)
