I like to think that Pink Diamond was upset over the Diamonds belittling her as a child who can't control herself, and in her rage she proved that true in her harming of Pink Pearl, who she did love. And afterward she got better at controlling herself, leading her to eventually get a planet and decide to leave Spinel, "For the better" since she hurt the last gem she played with.

I think Pink Pearl's eye was broken because of the "scream that breaks walls", not a literal punch... Maybe she started to have a discussion with her Pearl cus she was too angry at Yellow and Blue and yelled at the Pearl which happened to be too close and got herself damaged too?

Pink does have destructive power as Pink Pearl said. We also discover that Diamonds have 2 separate power that opposite with each other like how White can control other gems but she also have power for other gems to control her, and blue for making gem feel sad but she can also make them happy. Pink Diamond healing power is so strong that it can revive any living organism which mean her destructive power is so strong that it can permanently damage a gem even after healing. I headcanon that after her outburst, pink pearl was close to her and damaged, she then discovered her healing ablity just to save her. She able to heal almost everything except the eye which is why she take Pink Pearl to White diamond. White then control Pink Pearl and replace Pink Pearl's spot with Our Pearl. Our pearl said that Pink always have healing power which mean she no longer have that kind of outburst after the Pink Pearl incident which mean she also was traumatized from that incident

Interesting character analysis!! Pink Diamond has been shown to be neglectful, naive and have anger issues in the show. Yet her relationship with the other diamonds show why she is the way she is. Blue diamond is sympathetic but doesn't truly understand her feelings and is usually ignorant to what pink actually wants or needs. Yellow diamond is busy and overworked, making her irritable and cold towards her most of the time. The both of them fear White and never oppose her or disobey her orders. So instead of standing up to White, they go along with her view and see Pink as a misbehaving child instead of an equal diamond. White is apathetic and emotionally unavailable towards Pink's needs or demands. Instead opting to replace or fix whatevers troubling her and if she's acting out? Solitary confinement. This caused Pink lash out at her aid, her Pearl. She had the powers of a diamond, she just didn't know how to control it. And when Pink Pearl was scarred, Pink regretted her actions, she asked the diamonds to help her. White diamond "fixed" her. But took away her closest companion. They made her a playmate, Spinel. Because that was what they saw her as. That's why they saw Pink in Spinel. So she tried to prove herself by getting her own colony. To prove that she could handle the weight of a world on her hands. All these factors contribute to how and why she became Rose Quartz. Pink diamond wanted to save life on Earth. Blue took that as saving human life and just captured humans, putting them in zoos all because Pink had a "fascination" on them Yellow is too busy to hear her out and White... Doesn't care. None of the diamonds took her seriously. Rose Quartz was how she could be equal to the gems around her, and Rose Quartz was how she could rebel against the diamonds keeping her trapped in their image. She left Spinel because she couldn't bear to look at the friend that made her feel immature and looked down upon. She left it all behind so that she could be free from Blue, Yellow, White and Spinel.

I know Pink Pearl was defenceless and it's a given. But there were other dynamics that were there including, Pink Diamond's inability to control her frustrations and anger, and not yet experienced with taking care of her gems and colony properly.

⁠@@NoirRavenI mean she was abused too. It’s called an abuse cycle where an abused victim becomes an abuser often because they don’t know how to properly cope with abuse and often they internalize their abuse and normalize it leading to them subjecting others to the same abuse. It’s why abuse victim must get help as soon as possible because it really messes you up. You can empathize with an abuser if they are also an abuse victim and it’s a way to help rehabilitate someone and end their abusive tendencies. Like it or not Pink was also abused but he other diamonds. I suffered a similar abuse as Pink and it also messed me up but thankfully it wasn’t my parents that abused me and it only lasted about 3 years before my parents rescued me and helped me by getting me help and teaching me how to better cope with the trauma. In Pink’s case her abusers where those in the parental positions and she was conditioned and taught to be like then which is a big reason for her abusive tendencies. Instead of just being abused she was taught to be like her abusers and she wasn’t taught any differently. It’s a rather big red flag that you are showing with how you are unable to empathize with people who did wrong but were also wrong and how you cannot look at the roots of problems to help people are hurting and allowing their wrongdoings to define them completely and overlook the trauma that they suffered.

@@NoirRavenWell actually, it's explicitly stated in SU:F that Pink Diamond didn't hit her pearl; Pink pearl said that Pink Diamond had "a sonic scream that could crack the walls", and she happened to be standing too close to Pink diamond when she had that outburst. Then Pink Pearl was taken away, and it's hinted that Pink Diamond never used her sonic scream again out of guilt after the situation with Pink Pearl that was indeed an accident. So there's really no red flags for the above comment, considering the *actual* context of what happened

As someone who has been through what pink went through i can tell you that anger is brutal. Its completly reactionary. You dont control it. It controls you. And..yes...i hurt people when i was a kid. And that guilt doesnt go away. Its raw, red, bleeding wound that gaps and spits blood. The worst thing about that type of anger is the tremendous guilt you feel afterwards....its...an abyss you fall into and never leave.

It was pretty much hinted that Pink Pearl wasn’t hit but was just standing too close to Pink when Pink let out one of her extremely powerful sonic screams so it wasn’t directed at Pink Pearl.

Wow, Im surprise Pink Pearl didnt die from that explosive rage of Pink Diamond and only lost her eye because of it. I hope her cracks are not permanent because the last i heard it was an mentally emotional problem pink had and that she could heal her cracks over time.

it's the same way Steven hurt others on accident with his outbursts, they both have trauma from different things, and surpress their emotions to not let others down, so I don't blame Pink for accientally hurting Volleyball, but I feel extremely bad for her and for the baggage she left on Steven

I LOVE THIS! but tbh, I think that Pink should have yelled or screame at her pearl, because in Steven Universe Future, Pink pearl said that she had a scream that could "break the walls".. But this is still good❤

I mean, it is stupid to try and calm someone down when they're furious or in an unstable state, so Pink Pearl could've just left Pink alone for a moment and wait for her to calm down, cause who the fuck approaches someone who's so furious that they could lash out at someone and hurt them in an attempt to calm them down? Just a dumbass would do that lol

Consider that she was under orders. In an authoriative society there's often only the pick between bad and worse. She did the right thing and was damaged. or she could have disobeyed her orders in order to save herself and be subsequently shattered by the rest of the diamonds. Pearls really didn't have that much of a choice there.
