I started sketching and painting last year same time when the pandemic started. I have no formal training or degree in fine arts. I can draw nicely if I try hard. I watch YT painting tutorial like yours to improve my painting. It’s very helpful. I also have that feeling “anxious “ before starting anything, once I see the form, my anxiety goes away and start enjoying what I’m doing 🥰

Hi Angela, thank you so much for replying to me. I look forward to every week to your series. I agree that I learn something from each tutorial even if the painting seems a bit much for me. You do a great job and I always take away some thing. For some reason this painting just seemed daunting to me. I do have a visual impairment so anything too detailed is hard for me but I try, nonetheless. Thank you so much for sharing all of your talents each week. I really appreciate it. I am 72 years old and just started painting during Covid! You are an inspiration. Thank you. techniques

I love this floral! I’ve done almost all of the flower series and this one looks challenging. I thought I might paint all the background and dark center areas then draw in the flowers on top of it. It probably will make it easier for me to see where the petals are. I learned a lot watching the process on this one. Thanks for all your tutorials. You are such an inspiration!

I love how your nail paint always matches with the colours of the painting. I don’t think I can gather enough courage to try this. You make it look easy, but I know how challenging it can be. Maybe that’s because I’m paying more attention to your nails than to learn from you 😂😂But thanks a lot for doing this 💖

Lol thank you! I was not expecting it to be this complicated but it was a bit more challenging than I would want for a very new beginner unfortunately. But I do have some easier, similar paintings for beginners as I mentioned in the video. There are some good techniques to practice in there at least. :) Hope you try it a bit. You may be surprised.

You always do a good job for your painting. so I tried two times follow your other paintings but I don't think it is easy for a beginner. I don't think you really understand a beginner's way. It is not easy for beautiful you teaches and beginner follow.

First of all I would like to thank you for the amazing content that you create, I would like to ask if it could be possible to create a tutorial of a large flower close up (like this one basically) but with the flemish tecnique style in acrilic..I would really,really appreciate it. Thank you in advance

Hi, I just started watching and wondering how you keep the acrylics wet on the pallet, as acrylics dry so quick.

I spray my palette with water as I work. Also no fans. Add humidity in the room too if possible.

I have a question. Can you paint the background first (let it dry) and then use the traceable?
@thankfulart
@thankfulart Жыл бұрын
Yes just use a color that isn't too dark or erase it a bit. These colors are so pastel they might not cover well. Add a bit of white if so,

I choose to do this one first out of all the large flowers because it is a beginner, half way into the painting you pointed out it was the hardest one and to do the others first, I didn’t finish it as it was too hard. I would have been better of trying some of the other flowers first such a shame.

If you spray the drawing with fixative it won’t mix with the paint when you start painting 😊
@thankfulart
@thankfulart 9 ай бұрын
Yes I can't do that during my videos though. I don't have fans running to keep the paints from drying out so fumes would be a problem.

I'm curious as to why you chose this for a beginner-friendly project. Beginners usually don't understand the grey values card and there's so much blending and color mixing...I wondered that if you're teaching this to newbies why didn't you paint the background first and then transfer the image? It would have been a lot less confusing. I'm in your patreon group and love your work, and I have been painting for several years now, but I still find your paintings challenging...

It is for beginners. Flowers don't have noses, eyes mouth that needs to be exact. You really can't make a big mess. When I first started this was the type of things we did and dogs and people. Our teacher said push yourself to do a good job with these or you will stay a beginner. She never gave us easy stick flowers.
@thankfulart
@thankfulart 3 жыл бұрын
I honestly did not expect it to be as complicated as it turned out to be. I could have simplified it more and if you watched the whole video I explained how to do that and other ways to make it easier. With the beginner series I am choosing projects that will teach specific techniques. This week was values, blending and glazing. You've got to learn it sometime. It is a challenge for sure but hopefully not one that can't be achieved with practice.
