Ah, yes. This is by far the greatest release the old cow has ever gotten! I'm a proud owner of a copy myself, and I'll gladly share some knowledge on it's details... First, this was released to celebrate both the album, and Pink Floyd's first concert in Japan at the Hakone Aphrodite event. The thinner, red obi strip around the sleeve is a replica of the one that adorned a promotional release related to said event. The little outer sleeve the Blu-Ray is contained in, alongside other memorabilia is adorned with the logo for Hakone Aphrodite, it's quite pretty and fitting. The 'other bits' that usually reside in the program booklet are quite interesting, the 'bookmark' is actually a replica ticket to the event! The pamphlet with the event logo and map is a very nice addition, with the ticket you're practically set to go!.. ...to a 52 year old event. And about that poster, it's for their concert in Osaka that happened right after their appearance at Hakone. The super-sized booklet appears to be the same as the one included in the 2016 global cd release, just bigger. Nothing much to say on the Japanese-language and photo booklet. Interestingly, the backing card could be considered an obi as it performs a very similar function to one, carrying all the product's details that the customer would need to see (price, barcode, company details, etc...). Finally, there's a pink square paper that was lying around your inserts that you never brought up, I happen to have it too! It's a ticket included with the first pressings of this release that allows participation in a lottery with Hakone Aphrodite t-shirts as the prize. You had to snip off the corner, attach it to a postcard and mail it in to the company (but only Japanese senders were eligible to participate...). You could consider it a collectible now! That all being shared, I agree and say that if you love Pink Floyd and especially Atom Heart Mother, this is THE release to get. Between the inserts and the Blu-Ray, it's a lavish package for the price you pay.

Nice looking package but well overpriced in my opinion. Cannot say I am a fan of the Japanese market and I am surprised this is an official release. I certainly don't think it was authorized by the Pink Floyd camp and most likely the record company trying to bleed more pennies out of their fans. I've seen some right dodgy releases come out of this country in the past which is why I am not a fan of Japanese releases.

Actually, it's quite reasonably priced as a spiffy PF release, and it's definitely worth the dosh! I have also read from Japanese sourced that this release was in fact done with the knowledge and even advice of the band! Most interestingly of all they consulted Mr. Gilmour regarding the handling of the Blu-Ray contents... That being said, I understand your worries about Japanese releases, but believe me as a happy collector of them I can say that they also have some of the finest CD releases of classic albums out there, often putting the worldwide ones to shame. Like the most recent series of Pink Floyd mini LP's or "vinyl replicas" from 2017, they have been absolutely amazing to me.

It is deffinently overpriced, but i as a fan really want more concert material released on physical media. I do not know if I will get this because I do not agree with the price, but hopefully this is a step in a direction where we can get concerts like Pompeii released on vinyl

@@pizzaman4385 If you're talking about the English language/Worldwide version of this release that just came out, it IS overpriced! The original Japanese one was a good bit cheaper, which is a shame since it'll put a bad taste in people's mouths for such a great release! I wouldn't be surprised if they just brought it over to fill their coffers during this lucrative season...

Comprei recentemente os mini-LPs da banda holandesa "focus"e tenho o mini LP de estreia do king crimson comprado em um sebo aqui de salvador por 50 reais os do focus custaram pelo ML 300 e 240 reais para mim cds japoneses são infinitamente superiores aos outros paises
