insanity-themed lyrics are based on former Floyd frontman Syd Barrett's mental instability, with the line "I'll see you on the dark side of the moon" indicating that he felt related to him in terms of mental idiosyncrasies. The line "And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes..." references Barrett's behaviour near the end of his tenure with the band; because of his mental problems, there were more than a few occasions where Barrett would play a different song than the rest of the band in the middle of a concert.

I just love the musical conversation between Richard and David. If you havent seen it look for David Gilmore live at Gdansk. It's a masterpiece. The Pulse tour was just an insanely impressive production. I saw them in Detroit, the day after they played Chicago. Not all of their effects managed to get set up in the less than 24 hours between the two shows, and it was still a mind-blowing experience.

overg they had 3 stages leap frogging on that tour. So the stage they were on the night before wasn’t same stage
@overgme4 жыл бұрын
Interesting. Something else must have gone wrong that we couldn't get all of the special effects (for instance, we missed out on the exploding gurney bed . . . or was it an exploding airplane during the Pulse tour?) Whatever was supposed to explode at the end of On the Run wasn't actually there.
@johnlstubbs31734 жыл бұрын
overg yeah they had a lot going on that tour it was a great tour. I read on a few occasions the disco ball during comfortably Numb failed to open up fully but I guess you have to expect a few things to happen on a tour that size
@johnnyrotten46573 жыл бұрын
@@johnlstubbs3173 I was at that show in Pontiac Michigan, the ball opened up perfectly and the Silverdome had the inflatable roof that made it even better in my opinion. I was in such aww when it opened up, I will never forget that memory even though I was pretty buzzed like everyone else. Think that ball was one of the best props I ever seen out of the 100s of concerts I've ever went to.

To me Pink Floyd are only complete with Roger onstage with the rest of the lads, but even without him, Rick, David and Nick could perform and still give the best show in the world...of course that without the gentle giant, Rick among us anymore (may god bless his eternal soul) there can be no complete Floyd. I am no gilmie or rog, i think the sum of all members of Pink Floyd is far greater than any of them separated. Roger Waters needed the rest of the band as they needed him aswell, he was their creative pulsing heart after Syd left.
