The Division Bell Tour 1994
Live at London's Earls Court / PPV
4:53 - Solo
The Miracle Of 432Hz,
Most music worldwide has been tuned to A=440 Hz since the International Standards Organization (ISO) promoted it in 1953. However, studies regarding the vibratory nature of the universe indicate that this pitch is disharmonious with the natural resonance of nature and may generate negative effects on human behaviour and consciousness. Certain theories even suggest that the nazi regime has been in favor of adopting this pitch as standard after conducting scientific researches to determine which range of frequencies best induce fear and aggression. Whether or not the conspiracy is factual, interesting studies and observations have pointed towards the benefits of tuning music to A=432 Hz instead.
432 Hz is said to be mathematically consistent with the patterns of the universe. Studies reveal that 432hz tuning vibrates with the universe's golden mean PHI and unifies the properties of light, time, space, matter, gravity and magnetism with biology, the DNA code and consciousness. When our atoms and DNA start to resonate in harmony with the spiraling pattern of nature, our sense of connection to nature is magnified.

@@krischan67 Probaly blasphemy to have a dig at the way DG ended this, but the random run at the very very end doesn't really add anything for me. I would have preferred a long screaming note that just got more and more distorted and reverb heavy (a-la-gary moore) and then a really sharp stop... just my opinion.

David Gilmour is the greatest guitarist that’s ever existed, and it’s not necessarily for his technical ability or speed. There are plenty of shredders out there that can play a million miles an hour solos. The reason he’s so good is that his solos always serve the song, it’s never about ‘How good I am’. Gilmour has never been a show-off guitarist. It’s always about the music, the song, and how the solo can serve the song and enhance it.

I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. He gave me a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. All of us fortunate enough to have seen this show live were in a TRANCE.... MESMERIZED the entire show... as you can imagine. We walked out saying.... What did we just witness? That was out of this world incredible.

This was My wife's all time favorite song, it would get played over and over on a sunday morning on number 11. The house would shake, but the neighbors never complained. It was played one last time at her funeral. I cannot listen to it now without the tears streaming down my face, without sadness and joy in my heart. I could not listen to it for a long time after my wifes passing, but now whenever i want to reflect on the happy times we had together, i put this on real loud let the tears fall, and smile at all the wonderful memories she left behind. Thank You Mr Gilmore, for writing and playing one of the most emotional peices of music of all time. It will surely be played when I pass, and rightly so.

Just goes to show you don't need to play 16th note triplets and tapping like there is no tomorrow to make a superb guitar solo. This is one of the finest guitar solos of all time and it is played superbly, every note is perfect and the bends are incredibly accurate. There is the correct amount of space between the phrases and even though it is played over a repeating chord pattern it doesn't get boring as it is full of emotion. I feel this solo could go on for 10 minutes or more and it would still be awesome. Gilmour at his finest..... Finally - Its great to see Rick Wright smiling so much and having a great time. This is a magnificent concert.

My Father passed away in 2003 when I was 18 years old. He never explicit mentioned that he likes Pink Floyd, that he listen to them very frequently when he was young. My Mother told me many years later when I picked Comfortably Numb just to play along in the Background when she was visiting me for Coffee. It is interesting that without any big Influence of my Father, I too listen very frequently to Pink Floyd. Especially this Song. This Song make me feel connected to my Father more than any other Memory could. Sounds kind of weird, but it is what it is. It's heeling my Soul.

My sister was born 80% deaf in both ears. and now almost 95% deaf in one of her ears, and she is stalling on getting a cochlear implant. Because she has relied on hearing aids for over 5 decades, it's part of her identity which I think is her struggle for moving forward with an implant. When I hear this solo, I describe the sense of hearing as a true gift of mine. imagine what she is missing? What can I say to convince her to go through with the surgery?

Rebbie Mercury Mainstay of Pink Floyd , is a guitarist with a sound and feel pretty unique . Recognizable after listening to a few notes , has a style very melodic and complex , despite the choice of notes always points to a great simplicity true virtuoso of the instrument , he has never played fast but always intensely and heart . The work of Gilmour as a musician can not be limited only to the guitar. Great experimenter of sound , has been able to radically innovate the sound of modern electric guitar . He also knew how to use all possible expressive capabilities of the instrument also to create contexts harmonic ethereal , mysterious , majestic , distressing ... ie the entire heritage of the Pink Floyd sound . A guitarist as every guitarist should be . A master in every sense , modern even today . I will never stop listening to " the dark side of the moon " , in " Animals" , in "wish you where here"in"The Division Bell".

Rebbie Mercury What I find every single time I listen to this particular song, I quiver. There is something special, almost magic about his performance. If you really listen to the melody Gilmour is able to express through his guitar you wonder how can someone play so naturally and achieve an incredible result, making it look quite simple. I am fully absorbed by his unique style and talent, and I shed tears of joy listening to this masterpiece. Pink Floyd are definitely part of the story of Music, like Genesis.

@@mooncalf_4534 none of Gilmours music really is about the technicality of it. He just adds some sort of magical soulfulness to the sound and playing which really feels unique to his style which lets him play less yet say more. Another big factor is that he knows exactly how much to play, and when and when not to just let a note ring out, it adds so much atmosphere to everything he plays.

Absolutely the most spectacular live performance of all time. When the globe opens and Dave broke forces tears from his guitar, I shed a quiet tear every time.

Not a single person recording the show with their phones. God I miss that.

I wonder if Dave Gilmour knew that he created history there? That this particular rendition would be considered one of the standout performances of all time.

AT LAST !!!! Someone that thinks this is the greatest version with the greatest guitar solo ever !!!! My kindred spirit !!! The stars aliened from this song in 1994. IF music has any power the universal vibration changed at this very moment !

Everybody talks about the guitar solo... but have you hear Nick Mason drum play ? Simple and 100% dedicated to the song, I wish more drummers could do that... Nick Mason is a gift, such as Gilmour of course...

Saw a David Gilmour interview where he stated, simply, that Nick Mason is the Pink Floyd drummer. It's just a fact.

To our youth this is music, this is art, this is pure talent, this is what timeless looks and sounds like. This is Pink Floyd, this is David Gilmour.
