Always one of my favorites! In a classical structure of 4 movements-- The Intro, Funky Beat, 'Lost in Space" and Reentry/Musical Dialogue/ & Outro. This has a PF signature sound structure reminiscent of "Interstellar Overdrive, Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun and some others.... This is such a sweet piece of music, and I am eternally Grateful for it!

Yeah this was originally space themed as well! Then changed to nautical.
@AMRAND0.V23 жыл бұрын
This piece of music is focualy written to change the idea that PF is all space music and nothing else, so Roger Waters switched things so it would express the deep ocean which is the contrary of "space" that you still fell for
@tophr27103 жыл бұрын
@@AMRAND0.V2 as you (and I) made clear, it was changed in the middle to end of it. So it's not really a "fell for". Also I'd argue that the ocean isn't so contrary of space. Maybe literally, but metaphorically speaking they're very similar spaces.

Right around the seven minute mark is probably my favorite piece of music ever made. It's even better in the Pompeii version. A big part of what makes the Pompeii version so great is the slightly different baseline Roger's playing. He's playing nearly the same baseline as the Pompeii version in this one. It just adds a little more funk to it and so fucking awesome. -

A lot is said about this or Pompeii's version (by the way, I like edited version more than director's cut). Guitar, vocal, Rick's keyborads, Nick's smooth drums ... But, here's a comment that I had like to place before (in this version or Pompeii one), organ and bass entries causes chills in this epic song. Do you agree? Floydian cheers, from Brazil...

My favorite song by Pink Floyd , also like Echoes Pt 1 at Pompeii --------this sounds quite similar , but raw . I'm sure the released Pompeii version was sweetened in the studio ( which is fine ) - their harmonies sound about what it would sound like live and outdoors - whereas on the filmed version they sound perfect !

I like this. As awesome as Echoes is (awesome, as in, awe-inspiring), it sometimes feels sonically and tonally at odds with the rest of Meddle, whereas this has a similar mellow vibe as the rest of the album. It's more psychedelic than prog, feeling more in line with the late 60's-early 70's end of Floyd's career. Still prefer the original, but I'll definitely come back to this one now and again.

squeaky bit is nasteee! loudest thing in the track, angry squeaks action! The organ plays a completely naff scale in the middle of that section which is really funny, like it shouldn't be there. 'checking it works' kind of thing.an oops! moment perhaps. Sometimes people say 'better than the album' in a way personally i think this is. The album is immaculately produced, has a couple of great parts not on this version but somehow this clinches it for me. Exlnt rub of the Floyd ty 4 posting.

Concordam? Saudações Floydianas aqui do Brasil...
As said by user Tapiam Tampubolon, this recording is part of a unofficial CD called "Meddled" which is a live concert by Pink Floyd at the BBC London aired on 09/30/1971. I have no notice if there is an official recording with this show.

Have you ever upload a video whose content were under copyright laws before? These ads are automatically activated by the owner of the content (Roger Waters/Harvest Records), it's an agreement that makes me able to use this song in a music video, so this video won't be removed from our channel. I couldn't remove the ads even if i wanted to, and if i could do it, this video would simply get removed from KZbin. All you need to know is, we don't receive a dollar for uploading this video, everything earned from the ads goes to the original owner of the rights. Skipping ads are the only ''price'' you pay for being able to watch this video for absolutely free.

Plus you have to remember as well certain members of the floyd sound crew were starting to take heroin and heroin addicts become thieving shits for the most part anyway! so who knows they might of met dodgy blokes in a seedy London pub for some backhanders for getting the bootleggers some new material of the floyd! and the crew could easily of had access to a reel to reels or a a test pressing they had laying about to give to these bootleggers for cash to feed their hobbit or habbit lol!! i could be totally wrong though?
