Guilmour is the best guitar player ever. He‘s on a level that no one ever could achieve. His guitar is like a human singing, he gives life to the electric guitar.
@skippy8294 Жыл бұрын
you could mean it all the way you want, he's one of my favorite also and the band a personnal musical inspiration for my music. But within the years i've learned something about musicianship, and it's the idea that there are 2 type of musician. One with soul, feeling and grooving within the forests of soundscape, or the other who's theoritical and highly critical. A true musician is one who puts life into a dead medium. Gilmour is one within the great circle of art, yet he can't be the best, because the essence of art is to learn and give so someone else learns and gives back.

@@natewilliams1062 The story I read was that they just couldn't make the vocals work for some reason, and someone from the band got the singer to come in from another part of the studio when Rogers was taking a break. The story behind how Roy Harper ended up on this track goes like this. The band was in the middle of recording Wish you were here and when it came around time to track this song Roger wanted to do the vocals, they even recorded with him singing but David wanted sing on it and didn't think it worked with Roger singing. Roy Harper happened to be in the same studio recording his own music and David asked him if he wouldn't mind giving it a try since both Roger and David couldn't agree on who should sing. They recorded it and the band with the exception of Roger thought it worked better.

The song is cut off there because it goes right into the next song "Wish You Were Here." Back when this was released in 1975, albums were meant to be played in their entirety. Prog rock, if which Pink Floyd is a member of, is not a genre of singles. There were music radio stations whose programming format was AOR (Album Orientated Rock). The "Wish You Were Here" album is a concept album meant to be played and listened to from start to finish. If you listen to it like that, you will truly appreciate the artistry and vision of Pink Floyd. This is true for their mid to late 70s albums, Dark Side of the Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977), and their magnum opus, The Wall (1979). Yes, I'm a prog rock, hippie chick from the 70s!! 💜💜💜

None of them. Pink Floyd is named after blues players Pink Anderson and Floyd Council.😏

From my understanding, that actually happened to them. They were in a meeting with a studio exec and the guy asked "which one of you is pink?". I believed they walked out after that.

It's nice to see a young man expanding his horizons. I grew up on this music and Pink Floyd is my all time favorite band. Your reactions are right on. If you want to listen to a musical masterpiece try out Stevie Ray Vaughan's Riviera Paradise. Stevie was one of the greatest guitarists EVER.

He actually ran away. It didn’t go as planned. Or maybe it did...

@@Tacko14 The photo was staged before the stuntmann was light. They stood completely still for a short while we when the pictures where taken. The stuntman ran away afterwords to put out the fire. The stuntman got burn on his head, they did not take a second take.

This is why I watch all YOUR reaction videos rather than the 50 million other people doing reaction videos. They don’t react!!! You do... you also have the ability to recognize greatness such as the vocalist holding a note or an extraordinary guitar solo. This is the music I’ve listened to for over 50 years and it’s so awesome to watch your reaction to the greatest music ever recorded. Stay cool my man.

It’s great to see someone appreciate and genuinely enjoy this artist. I also grew up listening R&B and hip hop and was unaware of Pink Floyd (you mentioned this in a different video). Don’t remember how I was introduced to the band but I was glad to have been. Each album is a journey. Just sit back with your favorite drink of choice, close your eyes and take a ride from beginning to end. Because they have elements of R&B, Jazz, funk as well as blues influence the music becomes fairly easy for anyone to enjoy. Thank you for sharing your reaction. I recommend giving the album a full listen in your private time. Beginning to end.
