In a strange way, I think the black and white gives the scene a much more haunting and surreal atmosphere. I'd like to see this scene in color as much as the next guy, but I think you could insert it into the film as is and it would fit in almost seamlessly, if not for the editing markers.

The editing markers could work, too, since it makes it look like a film from the early 20th century, and we all know that those early years are very influential to The Wall. -When The Tigers Broke Free and Vera, to be precise.-

"Hey You" does not work for the movie because the whole point of the song is to stare at the wall while you listen to it. Originally Roger wanted the whole live show to be done entirely behind a wall, but it was limited to only this one song. Since staring at a wall is not exactly thrilling for a film they needed add some sort of action to the screen. Thus why this scene is a sort of hodgepodge of random clips. When ever I watch the movie I pause right after "Goodbye Cruel World" at the shot of the wall and play "Hey You" before resuming the movie. Good for the movie that they cut this scene out, but not good if trying to experience The Wall in its entirety.

So when doing the movie they re-worked this into Another Brick in The Wall Part 3 or did this and Another Brick 3 were exactly like this when the movie was being made? Because if you look carefully, pretty much half of the scenes here appear in the final movie, just a few seconds longer.

Can't we stitch together scenes from the film and/or get some colour conversion in? People convert WW2 films to colour, so I guess it may be possible.
