Parts of the "It's Never Too Late" song reminds me of the prior album Wish You Where Here. I love this song and wish I heard this the first time hearing The Wall album.

Mʀ. Bᴜʀɴs Rᴇᴠᴇɴɢᴇ Yeah, the pitch and length of the beats that start playing in the background druing the "It's Never To Late" part sound like they were directly taken from one of the parts of Shine on You Crazy Diamond.

I believe that this demo of Outside the Wall paired with The Final Cut might make some for of an definitive ending for The Wall,in my opinion
@heavymetalheretic53867 жыл бұрын
"thought i oughta tear the curtain down i held the blade in trembling hands prepared to make it but just then the phone rang i never had the nerve to make the final cut" Roger didn't want a definitive ending, the story is universal and ongoing but I agree I believe that was the original purpose of final cut. The Final cut is Pink at his most vulnerable and he is planing on killing himself however he hears the phone ring, likely his estranged wife or Mother and changes his mind. The Final cut is both a reference to cutting his wrist and killing himself but more importantly is a metaphor Pinks connection with others. The walls torn down but he has one last way to escape others but he just can't. Its a happy ending he finally answers the bloody phone and lets people in. Roger opted instead to keep the ending ambiguous and turn the lense on the everyone else, those who are just trying to live their lives despite the maddness around them. That is why it's called Outside the wall. Having known Syd Roger has been on both sides of the wall. Sorry it turned into an essay.

I believe “When the Tigers Broke Free,” was left off because David said the song would make the album too much about Roger. David wanted to keep the album about the character of “Pink”. And Pink has a lot of similarities to Roger but if they added that song it would pretty much directly be saying that Pink is Roger.

they probably got rid of It's Never Too Late for that loop, they didn't have it during the Is There Anybody Out There? concert or the movie so it could just be that they also thought it didn't fit too well, I prefer ending with Outside The Wall so I'm kind of glad it's more of a fun extra bit than the ending
