What a lovely man! So modest. And how great to have your wife enjoy the flying as well.

What a delightful Man. So humble. Yet a living legend of the rock world. I too hated to fly and made my wife miserable when we traveled. So I decided to take a flight lesson to try to gain control of the anxiety. We now own a Mooney M20J that we love to fly. I didn't know that David Gilmour was also a pilot. Thanks for all the great content.

I only recently found out David Gilmour is a pilot. I had no idea Nick Mason was as well. Great story about these two sharing AC resources. That's really cool. Keep the brown side down! Cheers!

Great interview, For many years I cleaned and did my Teflon sealant treatment to the cub and the Staggerwing, loved the Staggerwing an amazing aircraft. Also used to do the Mustang, Stearman, Yaks, and was even able to do some cars at Le Mans when I worked for EMKA EMI Motor racing. Can remember Nick flying the helicopter into Le Mans, also cooked him lunch of piri piri chicken pasta!

Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon 1973 ( Iwas 15th yo.) accompanied me through my youth, just like the album Meddle, which was formative for my development in the field of music... Thank you for that...

Good stuff. Was a pilot myself so this is very interesting. Just to look at him and hear him makes me have to go listen to his work on "Time", from Dark Side... Best timing and instrumentation I've ever heard.

Very enjoyable interview. I was not aware of Nick's aviation passion, I do have an entry in my logbook, Jan 23rd '88, with D Gilmour as passenger in DH82A ZK-AUE. (Pink Floyd NZ tour).

AUE...Getting back a bit? Saw a few Tiger Moths out of Wanganui which had an "A' back in the day. Maybe early manure spreaders? Fletchers and the odd Lodestar too?
@aue82a7 ай бұрын
@@wadeconnell1493 AUE crashed in 1957 doing just that. Restored in '86. DC3's were also employed in that role. Nick's L4 is also a lovely aeroplane.

Part of this interview really gave me the giggles. Question - Do you still have a Jet Ranger? Answer - No, I looked this morning and I haven't got one. I guess you have to be a member of Pink Floyd to forget what helicopters you own.
