I was 15, 1975, when I heard DSOTM all the way through, but I could only remember it was a Pink Floyd album. So I started to buy any album, hoping to find that One. The record store was always out of DSOTM, so I fell in love with the earlier albums. Any new album was a must get.

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times...when you world turns to shit and you've had a crappy day, you come home, pour a scotch (or similar), or glass of red, drink that offing it down. Then, pour another, woof that down too, then pour a third one and go turn off all the lights. Put this OR any Pink Floyd record on. Go find a bean bag or deep leather couch, put your headphones on and sink down into your chair, close your eyes, sip away the final drink, and let the music sooth your soul !!!

I'm a 63-year-old who is rediscovering Pink Floyd after being away from them for a while. I remember having their albums when I was in high school that came out in the early '70s which were Meddle and then Dark Sde and then Wish You Wete Here I can honestly say that I appreciate them much more now than I did as a youth and maybe it's because I kind of took things for granted back then and didn't realize how fortunate we were. I'll just toss out a couple of song suggestions for you and they are One of These Days, St. Tropez, (which will only cast in stone your supposition that they are always changing it up because you will not believe this is Pink Floyd) and one of my favorites off an album you've already listened to one song from, and that is Sheep. Happy listening!

You said you were on a journey this time. I was a Navy Corpsman (medic) in Viet Nam when Dark Side of the Moon came out (1973). Everyone I knew had the album and played it over and over. Never tired of it. Some people call their music an "experience" some call it a "journey". I call it an "adventure" as it includes both and is an adventure you don't want to end. In all these years I have never tired of it.

An awesome and brilliant track from Pink Floyd! The rhythm had a melodic mood to it as the saxophone 🎷, piano, drums, organ, and the bass sound makes a great blend of the song 🎶. The lyrics that says, “Us (Us, us, us, us, us) and them (Them, them, them, them)/ And after all, we’re only ordinary men“, I was shook by them. And the song is about he pressures in life and the senseless war that the individuals have/had to go through. Thanks so much for sharing your reaction and it’s a like and thumbs up.😄👍#pinkfloyd

"Music that touches your soul..." - Pink Floyd in a nutshell. Great reaction again, Hector! Love it!! The majority of the Floyd catalogue is best enjoyed as the original recording. However, the 1995 Pulse concert contains some outstanding live performances. You've already done Comfortably Numb, but may I also advise High Hopes, Run Like Hell, One Of These Days and Sorrow from the same live performance? Some other recorded masterpieces still awaiting you are: Wish You Were Here (it's a direct message to Syd - heartbreaking stuff...), Welcome To The Machine, Marooned, Pigs, Sheep, Mother, Brain Damage/Eclipse, Keep Talking, On The Turning Away and, if you're feeling really brave and want to tackle some of the earlier psychedelic material, Atom Heart Mother, Fat Old Sun and See Emily Play. Keep it up, mate! This is WAY better than anything you'll find on telly...!! 🎸❤🤟

Thanks for this. Great stuff as always, your energy and joy is infectious and wonderful to watch. I know you are in to your rap/hip hop and that you have started to branch out. While I tend to never suggest tunes for anyone to react to and I am sure a lot of people will have suggest them before, but you should dip your toe in the the world of Led Zeppelin. The reason i mention them is two fold, firstly, they are awsome :) and secondly and more interesting for you is, they are one of the most, if not thee most sampled bands in music history. A huge reason for this is down to rap/hip hop artist sampling the drums and rhythms of Led Zeppelin as their drummer is seen as one of the finest of all time. Most people will suggest Stairway To Heaven, which is nice enough, but given your love of rap, I would suggest When The Levee Breaks as I am positive you will instantly get why I suggest this. Give it a go sometime, even on your own time and you will feel the cogs start turning as everything falls in to place on your musical journey. Keep on doing you.... much love

It was in Phoenix in the 70s, about 25 of us went together, I stayed totally sober for this concert, no weed for me please pass it along..I told my brother I wanted to remember every single minute of this concert and it was worth it because it's still crystal clear in my mind!! Great reaction young man, imagine how we felt in our teenage years with a bunch of friends smoking a joint or two, turning off the lights, lighting a candle and nobody moves until someone has to turn the album over!! Us And Them was always my favourite song off the album. Nick Mason, Pink Floyd's drummer, also says it's his favourite track. Richard Wright originally wrote the music for the soundtrack to the movie Zabriski Point, which features songs from various artists. For some strange reason, the director of the film didn't like the music so it wasn't used in the movie. When Dark Side of the Moon came out, the band decided to take the music that was already written and enhanced it with lyrics, saxophone, et cetera. Nick Mason said it's his favourite because it was rejected by Michaelangelo Antonioni.

Side 1 of Dark Side of the Moon is in many ways the journey from life to death. Side 2, which this is from, is more about the trials of life. Money, War (this one), Drugs (according to Syed Reacts, and I agree), and of course, madness/mental illness. Love taking this journey with you. It's terrific.

In South Africa, the most prized album was an imported vinyl of Dark Side of the Moon, cos the local production sucked! I never regretted getting the UK press... Brilliant!

I haven't listened to PF in such a long time....gosh it's so nice to go back there. They do totally caress your soul and just make you feel so mellow, especially with songs like this. You gotta do Any Colour You Like, it's after this one on the album. Can't wait to see your Zepplin reaction...they were my go to band for a very long time! So so many gems down that journey! Thanks for the short break away...this just stabilized my mood. 💛

There is only a limited amount of time left to commemorate one of the milestones in music history. Soon it will be 50 years behind. The Dark Side Of The Moon (which includes Us And Them too) released on 1 March 1973. Before long, people all over the world discovered that there was something different in this strange album. Madness in its most innocent form or being pushed aside of the struggle for individual existence against the realities of the modern world, or whatever; but pure art overall... Then something even more interesting happened. This has become the best-selling album of all time by a hypercritical psychedelic/progressive rock band that tries to question what's on their minds (DSOTM currently in second place with 50 million copies in 50 years from a little difference from Michael Jackson's Thriller, but I'm sure it will be again at No.1 after another 50 years...) I live in Turkey. Two years later, in 1975, I was 7 years old, and my father and I went to a record store. He was a total vinyl freak, mostly classical music, operas and '50s jazz. He bought some records for himself and showed me one that was on the shelf on the wall. This was Queen's newly released A Night At The Opera album. Then he said, "you can listen to this if you want, actually I'm curious too." It had a very colorful but very complicated album cover which I didn't know what it meant at the time*. Anyway, my eye caught another one standing next to it, looking like a few years old, again very colorful, but it seemed more naked, nominative, and meaningful to me, especially because of that triangle. "I want to hear this," I said. It still is. * Certainly I listened to A Night At The Opera by Queen afterwards. It's a fantastic album and I haven't researched much but I guess cover art contains a kind of satirical art.

I said that yesterday in the comments, that it saturates my soul…it calms me down when I’m depressed… it’s always a trip with no drugs… looking forward to you finishing The Animals Album…I’m looking forward to all of the Floyd reactions! I sometimes have issues with memory from my brain 🧠 surgery…if you haven’t would you please listen to Comfortably Numb (The Live version at the Pulse concert,) To see it live plus to see they’re amazing light show WOW! it will blow your mind! Every Pink Floyd lover will agree! If you did do it already I’m sorry about that my brain 🧠 is probably taking a day off today! I’m 57 I’m thoroughly enjoying your journey…Pink Floyd Fans Are The Best! ✌🏻☀️

Since in the video you mentioned "lost for words" I recommend you listen to the pink floyd song that is called exactly like that, it is from the album THE DIVISION BELL, quite different from what you have heard up to here, perhaps another version of pink floyd, but totally incredible and with a very deep meaning

This album is amazing, but to me it became more amazing when I found this remixed into 5.1 surround sound and listening to it in my home theater. It a whole new experience now. You have so much to still hear and I can't wait to see your reaction. Albums to come are The Wall, Division Bell, A Momentary Lapse of Reason, Wish You Were Here, The Endless River and the live albums.....

It is so gratifying to see someone like ( youthful ) reacting to music that is half a century old & still getting the same thrill I got back in the day when this first came out. I'm 74 & still listening & smoking to this stuff. I envy you & what you still will be going thru in the future. Good on ya, mate !
