Christine Jackson Why does what he did to your mother have to change what you and him have?? He cheated on your mother, not you. You should love your father as much as you can. You only have 1 biological father. Love him.
@christinej.44048 жыл бұрын
KauBïf I discovered first, and I had to hide from my mom, and that was the hard part. I know it shouldn't change, but it does. He cheated twice, and the first time he told me he would never do it again. When my mum discovered they shouted at each other for hours, they didn't care who was listening, and I was. So it doesn't matter if he didn't cheated on me. It's not just the same, the trust I had on him is gone

I’m 14 but man this song always just hits. My dad liked this song and we’d play along to it with our guitars all the time, he passed a few months ago and he was still really young. I hear this song it breaks me apart sometimes…hearing it now as I’m a little older and paying more attention to the lyrics it just all comes together, this is truly one of the best songs ever created and im glad that my dad put me on this music, lots of memories i’ll never forget. What’s beautiful is how music connects us all and how we all have a different story associated with this song, different memories, experiences, etc. that’s life. wish you were here❤️ 1969-2022 edit: thank you for all those that replied, appreciate it a lot

Remain strong, don't let a power-run society ruin you, like it's doing with the majority of others. These times are tougher, as you have less and less of a change to be yourself, and end up being what others want you to be, thinking what others want you to think, and speaking what others want you to speak. Be yourself, follow your instinct. Trust yourself. If you feel you don't fit, don't worry, that's actually a good thing. It's easy just to be what they expect you to be, the brave move, is to truly be you. Whenever you feel you are losing it, remember your dad.

Just to voice out. Miss you dad hope you are doing ok up there, no more pain no more suffering. :') Edit: i really don't expectto get this much likes. I really miss my dad. Sometimes i will be alone in my dads room talking to the air, imagining how he would talk back to me while avoid my mum noticing to not make her sad. I can't bear more than 5 second looking at my dad tomb stone without crying. Life is hard carrying all sorts of burden while being step by other and being talk bad by others for applying leaves for my dads funeral. The emotional power and popularity of this song is simply amazing. I was remanded without bail some years ago, a prison with nearly 300 inmates, and 4 guitars. Sundays in prison are even more boring than every other day because there are no work or education programs, just the yard. One sunday one fella was trying to play this song and was mangling it to the point that someone else took the guitar from him and said this is how it goes. He played it, faultlessly, then he started to play it again and first one, then others started singing it, until most, if not all of the men there were singing the words. When that impromptu choir was finished there was a deep silence in the yard, 300 of us deep in our memories of pain and loss, some of us were crying. A very moving experience that I am sure none who experienced will ever forget. Pink Floyd music is a type of therapy.

I lost 2 boys (men) who played this on their guitars together. It’ll always “mean” something. I lost my mom last year. Means something… I think it’s supposed to have meaning and not be void of it. I’m so sorry for your loss.

I agree with this 110%... I'd give almost anything to go back to save her.. if I'd have just went in her room to say goodnight like I always did... but not that night.. she loved Pink Floyd. Her mom and step-dad were famous rock n roll photographers and boy, the life she had was astonishing! The things people dream of doing were day to day normal life for her... I was so lucky to have her in my life. Either I lived with her or she with me all my 33 years of life (I'm now 34 but she passed while I was 33, Oct 1st 2022). I completely understand what you mean. I'm sorry for your loss too, darlin. I hope you find peace and have support. Your parent(s) would not want you to stay heartbroken and sad. They always wanted you to be happy, healthy and do well for yourself, I just KNOW it. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

A great man I met one day who let me into his home, not knowing me, when I couldn’t get a hotel. He collected guitars but apparently never played in front of anyone. Ever. That night we was having a good time, drinking... I talked him into playing just one song. He played this one. Beautifully. Two nights after I went to see him to thank him again for his generosity and let him know I was returning home, my job was done. I genuinely thought he was a really good dude, felt like we’d been friends for years, leaving without stopping by would of been ridiculous. I can’t help but somehow call him a really good friend. When I hit there I learned by his landlord he passed away in his sleep the night before. He wasn’t sick. He wasn’t killed. He just... never woke up. I told her I was just there a day ago, told her how he we’re hanging out and he played guitar for me and she instantly says no wayyy he’s never played for anyone really? I met him by chance. He saved me that night. Wanted nothing in return. Of all people why’d he finally play for me and what made him pick that song? The odds of all that to stack up, at that time, feels more than coincidence. I’m a better person having met him. RIP GEORGE.
