A lot of these salt things say they are "rich in minerals", unfortunately the bottle rarely spells out the actual mineral content. Kudos to those that do. Also there have been problems lately with iodine deficiency, mostly from people avoiding the terrible "iodized" salt. I get an iodized sea salt, and supplement with plant-derived minerals. Also "salt to taste". Don't want problems from not getting enough salt. And yes, I have tried the "leave out the salt and see how great things taste" thing. If bland tastes good to you, go for it.

@qualqui6 жыл бұрын
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, sorry bud, but Purple Hippo is right, we don't need salt, the only salt we need is what is found naturally in our food, like Celery for example, the thing is its been made into a habit by us people wanting to bring out the "flavor" of food.
@brosplit6 жыл бұрын
Joe Serrano also invalid. Celery doesnt enhance our tastebuds the way salt does. Salt enhances sweetness, minimize bitterness & spiciness. Imho you should use better example e.g onion, pepper, garlic. It seems I need to elaborate; in chemistry Salt is organic. On your table ; processed salt (NaCl). Salt is needed in body because body cant produce sodium ion and salt is *mineral*. The question is how many table spoons you consumed per day.

Its like any other cheaply imported stuff sold at high margins by giving it an exotic feel. Himalayan salt is 10 to 20 times costlier than sea salt , and is a great marketing gimmick. All Sodium on Planet earth originated on faraway stars which 'manufactured' them in nuclear furnaces many billions of years ago as well as those captured from solar wind. Sodium is renewable - Stars continue to manufacture it - including our sun. Those higher energy vibrations are for those folks milking us for profits - the 2000% profit margin sure does vibe well for them.

Why should natural salt be limited? Does it contain toxins?
@philosophicalinquirer3125 жыл бұрын
it contains salt - thats the problem. Too much sodium chloride is harmful, increases blood pressure and can cause a condition called hypernatremia when blood levels are too high and the kidneys cannot filter out the sodium (sodium concentration higher than 145 mEq in the blood) Of course, low sodium is also a problem, a condition called hyponatremia. However, the average diet, in average people is more likely to cause problems with too much than too little.

Other sources include, but not limited to: sea vegetables (kelp, kombu, nori), fish (cod is an excellent source), strawberries, navy beans, tuna, baked potatoes, and turkey breast. Table Salt ... The Health Destroyer ... Most people are unaware that table salt contains aluminum and sugar. Salt is essential for health ..but taken in this unnatural processed form it can be very harmful. Table salt is comprised of 97.5% sodium chloride, and 2.5% iodine, absorbents and sugar. Common salt is dried at 1200 degrees Fahrenheit .. a process which destroys many of the natural chemical structures. The table and cooking salt found in almost every home, restaurant and processed food .. is void of nutritional value, and lacking in beneficial trace minerals. The body can't absorb this kind of salt in a healthy natural way .. and water is removed from other cells in an attempt to neutralize the unnatural sodium chloride. Studies have shown that for every gram of table salt your body tries to process ... over twenty times the amount of water will be used to neutralize the sodium chloride in chemically prepared salt. This can lead to cellulite, rheumatism, arthritis, gout, as well as kidney and bladder stones. Potassium reduces blood pressure - found in sea salt - not table salt www.best-natural-foods.com/foods-with-potassium.html Dr Joe ... obergsson LOL, pink salt and unrefined salt CONTAIN ALUMINUM! THIS IS WHY IT IS REFINED!!! TO REMOVE IT! You can even look at this guy source and see the reality... His own source show lithium and aluminum in that shitty salt.
